on the 23rd of June we play Alex at home and we are using this day to celebrate 50 years of the TEDFC. We are wearing the old Nth Melb stripes on a specially made jumper. At 7 oclock we will be having a function at the Eildon Boat Club that is $50 per head which includes 2 course meal and entertainment. We will be naming a team of the half century and auctioning off the jumpers worn on the day along with some guest speakers. If anyone is interested or knows of any former players officials or supporters can they please contact Brad Coller on bscoller@bigpond.com. Also we havent been able to find one important person our first coach Ron Mcarthy who played for Footscray in the 50's inc. their prem in 54. If anyone has any idea of his whereabouts can they also contact me. Should be a great night.

Good luck for a great night.

Re your first coach. Have you tried the Western Bulldogs board to see if anyone knows him?

The Team of the Half Century night was awesome. A great gathering of past and present players and the effort put into the club history was mind boggling. Outstanding stuff. Thanks to all concerned, especially Pup who goes beyond the call of duty in regard to what's expected of a coach.

Congrats to Pup and Razz, coaches of the firsts and seconds, and everyone else involved for wins over the arch rivals. Nothing better than victory in the local derby. It was a perfect setup for the night ahead.

Congrats also to Pup and all the others who made the team of the half century (could you possibly post the team on here Pup?)

P.S. Rollo looking forward to the cd. Great mc'ing with laughs all around.

Are they plum, are they pud, yeah they're pretty bloody good.

Go Boners!

thanks rosy.
who are you by the way.
Apart from grand finals it was the biggest ever day for the club making over 25 grand with gate, bar, canteen, guests and the auction. A lot of old faces there which was great to see and the night went off without a hitch. I think the selectors did a great job with the team and it was an honour to be selected. It was also great to see some modern day players (some of my boys) thouroughly deserving of their spot. (Hally, Digger and Bootie) i did loads of work getting together all the photos and history together by myself but it was very rewarding on the night. I talked to a lot of legends that i hadnt met before and i was in awe listening to some of their stories.
Here is the team

B: George Wallace Laurie Nicholas Dean Savage
HB: Daniel Creed Bruce Williamson Billy Newman
C: Ross Coller Eddie Jackson (C/Coach) Brett Halligan
HF: Brad Coller (V.C) Ron McCarthy Ray Chanter
F: Peter Tossol Sr Shane Rowe Gavin Landini
R: Leon Kristelly Peter Robinson Gordon Long
INT:Brad Boote Geoff Creighton Ryan Hall
Doug Musgrove Graham Parker Steve Shore
Mick Webster

I meant to e-mail and tell you who I am sorry Pup. Don't wish to be named on here but suffice to say I'm the one who bought your CHB at the player auction. With no personal bias whatsover towards said player (promise ;) ) and nothing to do with my love of backmen (ok a little bit to do with that) , I thought I was a show of my first collect after the Emerald game. :D

Fingers crossed all the injured players are recovering and you have a full list to choose from after the break.

Go Boners!:thumbsu:
