This time they had no choice! Considering the huge pro-Carlton crowd at the game there would've been a mob if they treated us the same as they have the last 10 rounds.

Plus who really likes Port anyway? Seriously even at their best people didn't like them and were a really annoying team to watch.

I would be fairly pis*ed off if I were a Port supporter. We got all the frees we deserved other than a couple of holding in the ruck. I thought on quite a few occasions that Port were unlucky not to get a a few frees in their forward 50.

Wouldnt have changed the result, but still.

We were due for a good run with the umps

i going to cheer the umps onto to the ground from now on! did it saturday night and it worked. I think near every time someone or myself was yelling ball or holding they nearly always paid it. It good to be on the recieving end of the frees though.

Go Blues!

and umpires:D

I was thinking that at the time and looked at the scoreboard: 19 to 11 in our favour. Can't say I've seen that this year.

The nadir was the Essendon game when the umpires did everything they could to screw us.

When you look and act like winners instead of a bottom side they tend to give you a better deal. Bottom sides usually always get a crap hand dealt to them.

I agree..Port were the unlucky ones to get screwed over by the umps this time. It really is a raffle as to which team will get the raw deal with the men in multicolours.

I must say i prefer to get the run of the green for once :)

We certainly seemed to get a good run from the umpires on Saturday night. I'm going to watch the replay tonight, so i'll pay special attention to the free kicks that they not only awarded, but the ones they might have missed as well.

I thought that was the best game for umpiring id seen for us in over 12 months. I have been going to the footy for a long time (25+ years) and was losing hope on our game because of the tiggy touchwood free's that get given these days.
I somehow think that adding another field umpire will make it worse because then there will be 4 different interpretations of rules. If 3 cant get consistency right , whats it going to be like if theres another? Thats the whole problem, if there was consistencies across the board i think the frustrations will go. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander.

Looking forward to a great game this week, i will be there as usual...and if anyone else is there look out for the "Fevalenko You Beauty" banner situated lower level on the wing, opposite to the side where the benches are!!:D

Simply pay the obvious free kicks and let the rest go.... all fans would be a lot happier.

The umpires are told to umpire a certain way.... it's not their fault. Not that it would be any better if they were told to umpire their own way. Jeff Geishen has a lot to answer for.
