Most likely I think...
IN Crowley
OUT Ibbotson

What I would like to see...
IN Crowley, Haddrill
OUT M Carr, McPharlin

I wish Haddrill was playing well enough to push into the team, because Luke is not playing great. Won't happen though.

Id prefer...

Out: Walker
In: Crowley

Give Ibbo another run before Schammer and Farmer push for selection is round 13.

Yeah if it wasn't up north, i'd say Schammer in this week, but considering his fitness levels etc, he obviously the 2 extra weeks will help him.

Mcphalin looks uninterested lately - Haddrill however is nowhere near AFL standard at the moment and if he doesn't pick up i'd say he'll be playing WAFL full time next season off the list.

M.Carr has done his dash, we've got him to 150, its time for him to spend some time in the WAFL.

My predictions

In: Crowley, Cook

Out: Ibbotson, Walker

I think they will fancy playing Cook up there in front of the blackfellas.

Someone should write a book on Haddrill's "poor" WAFL form. It'd fit very nicely between Cinderalla and the book I'm planning on writing entitled "Fremantle's solid back six" in the mythical fiction section.

At some point we have to set the agenda.

Do we look at the Dogs and become reactive and pick a team that matches up with them ?
or
Do we pick our best team and let the Dogs worry about matching up on us.
I'd go the latter. We have to make a statement. We are going to Darwin to win. Let them, try to beat us.

M. Carr wont get dropped. I'm probably the only one who thinks he played pretty good last Sunday. He gives us a lot muscle around the ground and he lets the opposition know he's there.

I'd take Ibbo as an emergency. He should get some travel experience.
Crowley in Ibbo out.

I found it interesting that Ibbo was training in the heat chambers, I didn't think he would play this week but as the week goes on I have a feeling he will play his second game in Darwin. :thumbsu:

How did Richardson go on the weekend again?

And pistol, Walker's pace was very handy on the weekend against Richmond and I'd say it will be against the Bullies too. M Carr was did alriight too.

I think some of the posters on here have unrealistic expectations about what selections may or may not happen, based on long held opinions of players rather than a current perspective.

I think Walker got a run against Richmond in preparation for playing on one of the Bulldogs smalls.

Do not drop McPharlin, that is crazy talk. Average couple of weeks but he has been one of our best so far this year.

WTF? Are you even watching the games?

McPharlin is clearly our best full back. And it's daylight to the next option. He kept Richo to 2 goals (1 a dubious free kick, and the other in junk time), and Rocca to 3 goals (1 to a bullsh*t free kick).

He might not be in career best form, but he's clearly doing enough to be in our first half a dozen selected, let alone our best 22.

I dont have anything against Walker's game against Richmond. Crowley is obviously coming back into the side this week. I just think walker is the man to miss, nothing against his game from last week tho.

For me, Walker's 16 possessions and 4 tackles compared to Ibbotsons 7 and 1 would clinch it. Or Peake's 12 and 1.

But Walker's never going to get any better. Ibbo and Peake will the more we play them.

Walker will play this week, Brisbane ran all over us and we won't make that mistake again.

If I was picking the side this week it would be horses for courses. In- Duffield, Crowley, Cook. Out- Matt Carr, Warnock, Solomon. Solomon and Big Nockers are in our best 22 but we need to inject leg speed (not that Cookie's fast but he gets to more contests than Slow Carr). Carr and Solomon will definately play though.

If Sandi is 100% then Warnie will be dropped for Crowley.

Walker to play his last game for the club this week.

Don't be surprised if Parker travels.

Huge 8 pointer this week, lose and we'll miss the finals.

Absolutely. Granted he's been a little off his usual excellent standard the past fortnight - but generally McPharlin has been very good all season.

pretty big statement to make. did u forget already what happened last year?

I would pick Campbell, Warnocks been good but we need another forward and let Taz and Pav roam a bit. Crowley in for Thornton. No need for a heap of tall defenders and we need extra pace. Duffield or even Gilmore (Id like to say Farmer) for Ibbo. I think hell be good but we need a little bit more experience in my opinion.

I am not saying I want him dropped.
All I'm saying is that I think he has been lacking something lately, and it would be nice if someone could put pressure on his place in the team.

You are right he is getting the job done, but we have come to expect a bit more from him.
I want to see him take a few hangers again. He can be a bit of a team lifter, and we do need that.

Before any changes are made have a look at the opposition. The Dogs are a quick side but not overly tall.

What we need are runners and maybe we could sacrafice a tall. I think Ibbo will be handy and Big Carr gets another run (please Harvey, use the hot pocker). Maybe someone like Thornton may be pushed out due to match ups.

Is Sandi going to play ?. Still like to have 2 rucks as it is a big ground.

Dropping Thornton will not be on the agenda.

If they are small there is more logic in going tall. And if your talking about pace then Thornton is not really lacking in that department.

It is a big statement but we cant just assume or expect what happened last year will happen this year. We lose this week and the finals are a long way off.

Fair enough, just trying to think in another direction.

Crowley should come straight in, but going for height over speed might be another way to go.

You want to insert speed yet you wan't to drop Soloman and insert Cook? What does Cook have on Solomon exactly? Sweet FA imo.

I do like the idea of bringing Duffield in though.

He doesn't give away f**king retarded free kicks and even more idiotic 50m penalties with 20 seconds to go in a quarter.

No I haven't, but have you seen our draw? After the split round we play Carlton, Sydney, Kangaroos, Adelaide, Geelong and West Coast. Five of those six teams will probably play finals and the blues are playing great footy at present. I'd be happy to win 4 of those 6, lose to the dogs and we'll probably have to win 5 of those 6 games which is highly unlikely.

i agree, but to say that we would be no chance only halfway through the season is a bit of an overreaction i think..

I agree we are a chance but we cant just expect what happened last year to happen again. I think we have the ability to win the next 7 games... Western Bulldogs (Darwin), Carlton(Home), Sydney (away), Kangaroos(home), Adelaide(away), Geelong(home) and West Coast at subiaco.

The next 7 games are winnable IMO. We are showing glimpses of form and I dont think we are far away from coming out and playing our best footy. As they say no one wins premierships in June... We'll be there in September no worries.

Sandi is tired not injured. Warnock going to Darwin. Good test for him up against Street. Streets been around for a while -- he's been up and down the street a few times -- boom tish

Anybody sick of playing Sydney away yet. 7 of our last 10 games have been over there. We've lost 7 out of those 10 not surprisingly, but I guess we have to win there eventually.

Thats certainly a tough run home, but hey if you want to make an impact at the end you have to be able to beat all comers. Thankfully its a very tight season so far.
