Just what exactly is going on with David Mackay and the hamstring he injured in Round 2? It was initially listed as a 2-3 week injury; however he was out for about two months and then we were told he suffered a setback during training during this time and they wouldn't rush his comeback. But just last week they said he was due to start training again.
Well in today’s injury update Mackay is said to be out for at least another 4 weeks. So I’m assuming he’s suffered yet another setback. Did he tear the hamstring or something? A year ruined by injury. :(

I can help you out.
David tore the hamstring at training last Wednesday, which was reported on the site and on a couple of TV stations. He had been back in training for a couple of weeks and was hoping to play last weekend but it went as he was kicking during one of the drills. When he first hurt the leg in round two it was the first time he had pinged a hammy. About three or four weeks later, after he started running at speed, he felt sore so they went back to the start of his rehab program and built up his training workload slowly. Unfortunately he will have to go throught that all again. Cheers.

Just wear a mankini for the week and we'll call it quits.

So where is he at now?
Been about 6 weeks since he tore it again.
PS. Longest 1 week injury I've ever seen.

This from the AFC site today:
2006 draftee David Mackay (hamstring) has been running for two weeks, according to Crows physical performance coach Stephen Schwerdt. “He has been progressing well but we are taking a cautious approach because he has been injured twice,” he said. “We want to get it right for the long term and that’s why we have no timeframe on a return to playing.”
