There will be only one change. Charlie maybe just getting named to keep other clubs aware he is still around. Hopefully someone will be stupid enough to offer us a 4th Round pick for him!

In: Selwood

Out: Rooke (Suspended)

Bomber must feel sorry for Charlie and thought "Well he will be delisted by the end of this year so might as well give him one more thrill."

It will be Selwood or Hunt that gets the nod.

You would think that Selwood would take Rookes place. But if as reported by some people he may replace Nablett! If he does not take up his position.

itd be a shame if they play him, he will lose value as other clubs will realise how shit he is at AFL level.

at least now geelong has the excuse that he just cant get a game coz of how well our sides doing.

I will set a scene for you:

Nathan gets dropped for Charlie who in the dieing minutes of the game turns the ball over resulting in a Brisbane goal to win the match by 1 point. In the VFL Nathan casually slots 8 straight.

Can you imagine the fall out??!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd rather play Hunt as a forward than Charlie if NAblett can't play for whatever reason.

Now, that would be a bit of Malcolm Blight-type lateral thinking!

From what I've heard about Charlie he just puts his absolute everything into his footy and is so dedicated to training and getting better.... unfortunetly he is not good at it.....

Gardiner will play because he gives us a mobile marking centre half forward. Iff Ablett is down (injured?) there is no doubt he will play like it or not

Charlie does put in quite a bit, sure he isn't gifted and does make mistakes, however so does everyone. If he comes in for whatever reason, so be it.

The coach obviously knows the club better than us, so I'd give him another chance most likely because he may not be around much longer in the club.

I don't think there will be changes anyway, maybe Charlie is being named to give Nath a scare, to push him to a new level. Maybe Nath is carrying an injury, who knows.

Did anyone go to training today ?? Did Nath train ??

I believe that only Selwood will come in, maybe on the outer limit Pris may come in for Tenace. Those are the only changes I can see.

On another note, why isn't Callan named instead of Hunt ?? We do need at times the guy who is prepared to just throw caution to the wind, and he surely does that.

If you mean by good game did he mark the ball yes he did. If you mean by good game did he do anything with it NO HE DID NOT! He butchered his disposal horrendously, including one highlight of flying into Hawkins just as he was about to mark the ball. His disposal and decision making was just as bad as ever. No way in hell should he ever grace the seniors again.

He won't play. They've correctly promoted Selwood, and that'll be it.

You mean the small defender who throws himself at every contest instead of staying on the ground and crumming / stopping small forwards? Yep, that sounds like Callan to me...

Selwood will be the only change unless there is some injury we don't know about. You'd think if Nath was injured, they'd bring in Tom instead? Charlie isn't quite the same type of player.

Anyway, I think they're just playing with us...

Spot on - Hawkins is a footballer, Gardiner isn't.

I get the feeling part of naming Charlie is so they can tell Tom he has got to earn his next game and put in as much effort as Charlie does.

Pretty sure i stated the '2004' prelim final Partridge mmmmaaattteee....when Hawkins was unheard of.....so not really sure what game you are talking about cos Hawkins didnt play against Brisbane in the NAB Cup either...In that 2004 game, i saw a glimpse of Charlie that i havent seen since, but i still hold hope

You began your post by referring to the VFL match on the weekend, that's what Partridge was replying too. Yes, Charlie may've kicked 2, but he murdered many attempts. In fact H arguably contributed more playing forward in the final quarter than Charlie did for the entire game, and that's saying something.

However Sir Charles' three best career games have all been played against Brisbane. If you were ever to list him as an emergency for a match, this would be the one. His naming reminds Nathan his position isn't guaranteed, and corrects any impressions Tomahawk may've had about getting an undeserved ride.

Um....Gardiner has been playing pretty good in the twos. He's been marking well and leading for the ball. He's certainly a lot better than the other talls on offer in the twos. I think Selwood is a good player but he doesn't play as a "tall". It will be either Hunt or Gardiner, depending on the balance they decide on. If they pick Selwood or Prismall, we'll be playing with one less tall. Either way, we will win.

I know it's blasphemy, but I think Gardiner would have been a better player last week than Nathan Ablett. Gardiner at his best is better than Nathan Ablett on a bad "three touches" day, however, Nathan at his best is way beyond that of any other young player we have on offer, so I would never drop him.

I admire people who make the most of their talent - too bad Charlie didn't have any to begin with.

Still a Cat's player, still puts in 100% even if he's unfortunate enough not to be as talented as the rest of the list. Would be surprised if he was included ahead of Nath but if he is then he'll be servicable against Brisbane, no offence to the Lions. Nathan hasn't been shocking but he hasn't been great either, might be getting a wake up call.

Sorry I was talking about the reserves last week. You're right, every now and again Gardiner takes a great mark and you think "where did that come from"? But for me, after 5 long years of failure I can't sustain any more faith in him. He's had more chances than probably anyone else on the list, and rarely repaid that confidence. I'd have Nathan Ablett and Hawkins ahead of him now. Once he's off the rookie list probably Grima too.

To settle this, Selwood will be the only inclusion. Rooke out; Selwood in. Midfielder for midfielder.

Selwood IS the inclusion. Points go to Partridge. Nice work mate.
