View Full Version : Tredders Named CHF.

Wazza has been named CHF against the Bombers. Naturally its position. But obviously he cant play it like he used to.

So why doesnt Choco bite the bullet and show his hand. Label Tredders a full forward from now on, and give a young gun such as Westhoff at CHF, and start him there. And have Tredders to fall back on if need be.

Tredders can use his body to pull in some marks, and kick some close in set shots. And i reckon it will straighten Port up, make them kick a little longer.

He can also mentor young Westoff in the art of CHF.

Even though he's only played a couple, chuck him in it, he'll either sink or swim.

Thoughts ?

I think Westhoff would get smashed at CHF as there is no meat on his bones whatsoever.

And yet he still kicked 3 goals in his first game and 4 in his second. Don't let his size fool you. This kid is gonna be something special.

I never said he can't play the game, he is a class act but holding down centre half forward is a tough act and he could get battered there.

You have a point (for once) but it really doesn't matter which position he is on paper to start at. He is gonna go where ever he has to to help this team win. He won't purely play CHF.

That's going straight to the pool room.

Tredders was as skinny as a skun rabbit when he kicked 8 goals in 98 against Caaaaaarlton !!

22 disposals, 17 marks, 8 goals, 3 Brownlow Medal votes and an AFL Rising Star nomination.

19 years old.

Tredders was thrown into the deep end as an 18 year old, and skinny at that. Because we didnt have a real CHF. Bowen Lockwood was promising, but unreliable and injury prone. Darryl Poole did a good job, but it was time for a real CHF.

Lets see what what young Westhoff can do, he's 20 years old. Put him in the position, and set Tredders around him to help. What better mentor could you ask for.

I can see in my chrystal ball, Westhoff can be a top CHF.

Another thing which you have forgotten RL is that, even though Westhoff is positioned to play CHF, he won't get a top class defender on him. Also, Warren Tredrea, despite his struggles, will recieve alot of attention from the Essendon defense, thus leaving Westhoff or other dangerous forwards, open to kick the goals.

Even though Tredders is only kicking a goal per game, he is still our most dangerous forward, because he draws 90% of the defense's attention.

Carlton were hardly struggling for defenders that day, either.

Sorry I thought this was the Port board, why are you bringing the Crows into this? You lads can't help but talk about your Big Brother can ya ;)

Troy does make a good point re: the quality of defender he will attract as Tredrea will get the top one despite his horrible knees and form at present.

Sorry I thought this was the Port board, why are you bringing the Crows into this?

Because your a Crows man. ( or a closet Port supporter ).

And when your on this board, you usually do nothing but criticise.

When i partook of some criticism of my own on the Crows board, nothing unlike your usual words of wisdom, i got a yellow card.

So heres my chance to even the keel Rooster.

I think we are very tolerant of you in fact. Which goes to show the down to earth people we are.

As for big brother......pffftttt :D

We are your Grandad. Heritage and history says so in a factful way.

Off topic in my own thread, but i forgive myself.

Id rather see Cockshell get a crack at CHF. Hes got the size and build.

I see your point Macca.

But sometimes you get a feel for a kid that burst's on to the seen. young Westhoff has done that even classier than Wazza did, although a touch older.

Size and build sometimes doesnt count for much. Call it destiny......i dont know.

I hope i'm right.

Cockshell may be bigger, but in his two AFL games has kicked 1 goal.

I'm not bagging him, but hasnt shone through in skill. CHF also takes massive skill, not just size.

Does anyone here seriously not think Tredrea will kick a bag? The script couldn't have been written ANY better

He's in for a bag Pred !!

Power to beat the Bombers by 4 goal. Tredders fires up and snags 4.

Eventually the opposition will put their better defenders on Westhoff as he's kicking the goals and it just might be the break Tredders' needs to find his form again.
