I hope Selwood comes in for Rooke.
Thats all the changes we need.
Unless we brought bring Prismal in for Tenace, but highly unlikely!
Winning form is good form.

You'd suspect Charlie, Pris and Hunt will remain in the emergencies.

There is no way Drummond and Merrett can handle Moons and Nath, nor even Otto when resting. Little wary of placing Varcoe up on a HFF,
would like to see Kelly back there as he has had good disposal in that possie recently. Might have had a day off last week, but has been
great there all year since his suspension return.

However Stokes in the pocket could be a livewire, so I guess could be Varcoe further up the ground.

I think SJ will have a break out game, he was missing for large amounts of time last week, I'm hopeful that he stars this week. Ling to
dominate Black and show us again how valuable he is to the team, by putting the team first and his stats last. Wish the coaching panel
did that last year, there wouldn't be so many detractors for Linga.

We look the goods, wish I was down there to watch. Anyone who goes, give the Lions heaps we need to remain positive and passionate
and the lads should get up.

I actually think Hunt will get the nod this week

Mitch Clark out is a bonus for us, even less height and talent in their forward line now. We'll stretch them big time at both ends of the ground. Midfield battle will be important, though, they still have plenty of types like Black who can carve us up, but it's hard to see where there goals will come from aside from Johnno.

I'd have Hunt in for Rooke and Selwood in for Varcoe, I thought Varcoe has been just getting a game for a few weeks and last week he was pretty quiet. Selwood's to good to leave out. Tenace needs to lift, he should be under the spotlight as well.

Any views on key defensive match ups.

Egan on Brown - Give him first crack
Scarlett on Patful -
Harley on Wood
Milburn on Mcgrath?

I don't think all four of these will be in the forward 50 at any one time, meaning Harls could possibly move to the cheat Mcgrath?

Harley might go to Patful, leaving Scarlo to play out of goal square on Mcgrath/Wood. If this is the case Scalo might get 50 kicks on sunday.

Gday Cats, hope you dont mind a visit.

Haha, wish we could say that but the Lion's have just been terrible. Sadly, that is the best side available with probably 8 to 10 vying for about 5 or so spots. Think you'll find aswell that of the 3 newbies I believe only Proud will actually play, with Mcgrath, Begley & Roe the others to make the cut.

Just on the game, no doubt your blokes have the superior forward & backlines. This year's proven that a double or triple team on Brown has left the Lions floundering. Clark's recent form has somewhat helped but is out as has been mentioned. The worry is where the goals may come from against Geelong's experienced hard as nails backline. Mcgrath coming in is a bonus I guess as is our top goalkicker and plays well with Brown, but this is offset by the loss of Clark & the continuing injury to C Johnson.

Not sure what the naming of Wood in the forward line means, as is definitely a ruckman and not proven yet that he can play any other role. Although has kicked a bunch in the 2's recently.

Perhaps for the Cat's forward line, Merrett will get whoever's in the square, wether it's Mooney (should be a great matchup) or N Ablett, with perhaps Roe or Brennan to get the other. That leaves the unattractive prospect of holding all those deadly medium & small forwards. Adcock & Drummond are the ones we rely on to get the ball moving from the backline so perhaps Copeland, Brennan & Mcdonald to play roles on Johnson, Ablett or Chapman.

Also I wonder Budha38 whether Wood may play in the square, in which case Scarlett would get him. Wouldn't think he'd get many goals on the master fullback but his job would then to be to take Scarlett away from Brown.

Now that Clark is out it frees up a lot of our defense. We have that extra big body to get infront of brown. Wood wouldn't be much of a worry for us up forward. However Charman lurks as a danger. When woods down i hope Harley plays off him and gets in the way of brown.

Clark's absence can't really be undersold (I pegged him as their X-Factor man).

Wood has a nice pair of hands and has been booting some decent bags of goals up forward in the Queensland leagues, so he might present a slight problem with his height. The Lions' reluctance to kick to contests will hinder whatever advantage they may have with him up forward though.

Charman's looked like rubbish whenever he's played up forward this year.
