NikkiNoo asking my opinion on Hinge got me thinking about our list in five years. I'm sure this thread has been done a hundred times, but I can't remember the last time.

I'm only going from our list in 2007. I think this will be our best 22 in 2012, not including any new draftees or trades (bar one, very, very sneaky one). Of course its completely unrealistic, so don't start me up on that. I know there will be disappointments and some of the "stars" will end up delistees, but I'm interested to see other people's lists. Hopefully it can show where everyone is thinking the club is/should be going.

B: Stevens Rutten Johncock
HB: Mattner Bock Pfeiffer
C: MacKay Van Berlo Douglas
HF: Reilly Sellar Hentschel
F: Archard Tippett Porplyzia
R: Meesen Thompson Knights
IC: Griffin McIntyre Vince Gibbs

Still on the list:
Maric - He’ll definitely be retained as every club needs 3 ready ruckmen. I do love the idea of Griffin playing forward full time because he looks so much more comfortable there. 3 ruckmen in the 22 would be a nightmare to match up on if we could work it right. But perhaps that is unrealistic, especially considering Tippett would be down there as well.
McGregor - I think if he’s still on the list, he’ll be in our first 22, if not, he would have retired/pushed, but I can’t decide.

I’ve been harsh with my retirements to make some choices easier.

Retired (or pushed out): Bassett, Biglands, Bode, Burton, Doughty (the young fella retires at the tender age of 22), Edwards, Goodwin, Hudson (I'd love the big fella to still be battling on!), Massie (possible delistee, maybe even still on the list, would be 31/32), McLeod, Perrie, Ricciuto, Shirley (probably also still playing, but probably in his last year, a player that is as hard as him often has a lot of injury problems later - like Roo), Torney, Welsh

Delisted: Campbell, Gill, Hinge, Jericho

Very good effort but i for one would be surprised if Archard and Stevens are still there in 5 years time. Also if Gibbs is at the Crows i think he gets to play on the field:D;)

Also i'm a bit worried that none of our draftees from the next 5 years will be getting a game :p

And don't be surprised to see Gallman in that side, i think i'm in a Van Berlo style love with him:thumbsu:

Would have been a good thread and team if you hadn't included Gibbs. Get over it and move on.

Stevens won't be there.

Agree, move McIntyre to the BP and Gallman to the bench:thumbsu:

Well, if our prayers can bring all this rain...

I'm sure we can pray hard enough for Pavlich, Harris and Gibbs to come back home...

oh man... Imagine THAT team!

Not really a Harris fan tbh.

Don't ask me why. Just doesn't do it for me.

Great optimism - I'm sure his dad would be talking closely with AFC. Personally i'd put him as a ruck rover or in the centre. He'll be way too good for the bench in 5 years!

damn - our next 4 years of recruiting are a wasted as well, lets hope we don't finish bottom or maybe we traded them all for gibbs ?

Looking at this list has affirmed my faith in NC's trading policy. We have the list for the future, we just have to develop it IMO.

Gibbs was obviously a joke.

I haven't seen enough of Gallman, but I'm relatively confident about Archard & McIntyre's future at the AFC.

Stevens has won me over and he will win you over too in time. He's had a ripper season so far.
