Good time to have a break. Regroup and look forward. Schammer and Wiz coming back after the break. Warnock shows so much athleticism. He will be one of the best ruckmen in the competition in a couple of years.

Murphy kicked 8 for Souths today, Farmer had four. Probably the last game for Walker. Development of Johnson and Mundy into expanded roles and Hayden is playing awesome. If we trade one of Murphy or Kiwi it should get us a crack at a couple of good kids at draft time.

*tumbleweeds blow through*

Not having a go at you Tony but you're pretty brave to start a thread like this tonight.

Farmer and Schammer coming back to strengthen the side, there I'm being optimistic.

That's all I can see worth looking foward to.

Oh..and playing Carlton, I almost forgot.

Wiz & Murph ripped it up for South today. Them and Schamm back after the break. Anything can happen. Is that optimistic enough? It's the best I can do right now. I thought we had that one.

Really if we had kicked straight we would have won that game. Compounded by the fact that the Doggies pulled a Port on us and kicked goals from every part of the ground.

Or how about this:

Solly kicks that goal in the last to put us almost back within a goal and we're primed to run over the top and win. Then the ump pulls out a trademark screw Freo crooked bounce straight to Darcy and they goal from the clearance. Next clearance they pull out that non-existant push against Peake and the Doggies goal from 60m. In the blink of an eye we go from being in a winning position to needing 4 goals to win through no fault of our own.

That's about the only positive spin I can put on this loss.

I think the loss was disappointing as far as what it means for the season overall, but there was definitely some positives as far as the game itself went. We are playing some better football. We actually did well in the clearances last night. I can still see us having a much stronger second half of the season - not neccessarily good enough to get us into finals, but certainly more consistent and better football than we've seen in the last 12 weeks. If we can reduce the suspensions in the next 10 weeks, along with Farmer's inclusion things can only get better.

As I said in the other thread....Back in the day of blind optimism, it was all we had.
This season we had expectations
