This thread hadn't been created yet so I though I would add it in. Just post any thoughts, injuries, concerns or any general new and discussion in here.

To start things off I hear both Travis Johnstone and David Neitz are injured and won't be playing which is big news esspeacially as we had no match up for Neitz. Hopefully Brown also comes in to play, maybe even Simmo

Brown was interviewed by Footy classified tonight and he said he was ready to play, as was he ready to play last round but they thought i was silly to rush him back for a round ;)

Surely Simmonds will have a week or two in the vfl...what point is there having him in half cooked? lets get simmo and brown right after a few runs in the vfl then have a strong finish to the end of the year...
GO TIGES!!! THIS WEEK IS THE ONE!

If the tiges are down by 1 point, 10 seconds left, the ball goes into the forward 50 and James Frawley takes a massive contested mark to end the game for us, theres no doubt that Wallace will again blame Frawley...:D

LOL!

With Brown it seems a little weird that he is "sorefree" while at the same time is unable to play half a game for Coburg 5 full days before a game. If he plays I guess we will all be worried about his ability to back it up week after week for the rest of the year because that is the #1 goal with him atm.

While Neitz and Johnstone should be out, Byron Pickett looks set to return. I hope he gets picked because I want to see if any of our kids are scared - hopefully someone gets smashed by courageously going for the ball (without getting hurt of course ;)), I wouldn't be surprised if it was Deledio.

GO TIGES!!! THIS WEEK IS THE ONE!A half-cooked Simmonds is still our best ruck option. If he is fit, play him in the AFL. If he isn't fit, don't play him at all. Waste of time having Simmonds run around at Coburg. Better off getting him match fit by playing him in bursts off the bench in the seniors.

agreed, no matter what kind of fitness level he is at we always look better with him on the ground.

I would have to both agree and disagree, I agree we look better with him on the park but not when he is coming back from an injury, he came straight back from the ankle the first time and ended up back on the shelf for another 4+ weeks. Get him right, get him a couple of games at Coburg to make sure he is right then bring him back. The season is shot so no point forcing him to play, what are we going to gain from it nothing but the increased likelihood that Simmonds re-injures himself.

i want a f*cking win. to accomplish this, i believe simmonds has to be a part of it, 100% or not. give him this week and then reassess, cos with neitz and johnstone out we are a chance.

Simmonds must play. EVen if it's to help Patto out. As big a heart that patto has, the less he plays, the more chance we have. And I don't mean that in a condescending way towards pattison. Even if Simmonds helps out for 8 mins a quarter, that's gotta be a good thing.
I don't belive this 'play a couple in the twos' crap. If you're right to go, you're right to go. End story.

Pattisons work rate has gone up a notch this year, especially after being asked to do the rucking himself. "Got a heart the size of pharlap"

agree completly,

even if simmo plays 40 minutes on the ground

it gives patto that little bit of a rest,

simmo doing about 20% of the rucking and in the foward line for 30% of the game and on the bench for the other 50% would be fine by me

Agreed, this is our best chance so far of notching up a win, and i want the team to go out as strong as possible. Even if it is only for 40 minutes like kaino said, that would give us such a boost

Neita might be fit for our game which greatly helps their chances, they will go in as firm favs I would think with recent form.

I highly doubt it, and if he does play, after a hand injury i dont think he will be anywhere near being a main player

Wallace said in today's press conference that Simmonds is playing VFL this week.

He won't play. Which brings up an interesting one for the Demon selectors: who they bring in. Don't be surprised to see the debut of young Newton this week.

^^^ Well remmember he was injured for the second half against Freo

Meanwhile, if both Brown and Simmonds play we will effectivly be playing with 21 men as they would realistically only probably play no more then 50% of the match each. Where this good be good for and Edwards a he gets more game time, we may run out of legs towards the end

Goot:thumbsu:... well not good byt you know what I mean. I would prefer him fit against Kangas rather then re-injure himself against Melbourne

My predicted changes this week:
IN: Brown, Krakouer, Tivendale
OUT: White, Polo, Howatt/Kingsley/Hyde

Agreed. I hope we lose and sew up 1 or 2 in the draft.
