If this bloke had been playing on the weekend we would of won. Straightest kick in the AFL, its a travesty that he is not playing. Works hard leading straight up the ground, and is a great kick.
Join the Chorus everyone, drop someone and give the Spud a shot! I don't care who you drop. The bloke wants to please, give him the opportunity!

I think he very much deserves a go, I don't see what more he needs to do to get selected again. I just fear if he isn't given a good go this year, played in the odd game here and there and doesn't show much.... that he will be the type of player we will trade, wind up at the Western Bulldogs and become a 50 goal a year player.

He wouldn't end up at the Bulldogs. They don't believe in tall players with talent - only tall players, and players with talent. Plus, he'd never get a game if he had to compete with Macdougall :D:D:p

I hope he get the recall he and peake are my favourite players
Pavlich and Tarrant rotating out of the goal square with Murphy as goal square leading foward with farmer at their feat. Tarrant is better at setting up goals then kicking them so if we can get tarrant kicking it to Murphy then we will be right. Tarrant gets heaps of the ball and if he has an option to kick to who will never miss then our foward line is gonna be absolutly unstoppable.

Surely he deserves to get a run against carlton if tarrant gets rubbed out? Then again, who else should come out for Farmer and Schammer?

My 5 year old son would love to see him running around again, it's his favourite player!
The dockers need the accuracy atm, but would CC leave him on the field for extended periods of time is the question. His confidence could easily be ruined if just rotated through the forward line a few times a match for short periods.

If Tarrant gets a suspension from the alleged events up north, then I see them having not problems in bringing back Spud. He's done more than enough for a recall with Farmer and Schammer.
The only problem is CC tends to take him on and off and thats what has annoyed me about our younger players. He seems to trust his older players too much and give the young guys 50% match time or less. If you give them more time then they get better.
That's pretty good WAFL form surely they must bring him back.
At least he can kick straight.

So we're all agreed then.
We're taking a shot with a spud gun at our old fellas. Sounds simple.

Tarrant might have done us a favour with the recent event in Darwin.
No offense to the Blues... but....
If we cant beat them at Subi with half our team missing then we don't deserve to be in the finals.
So this next game is perfect opportunity to give spud another run. If he gets the ball 6 times and kicks 4 goals i'd suggest it's better than 15 possies for 1goal 5.

Not necessarily. If the other 9 possessions set Pav and Jeffrey up for 7 or 8 goals between them, then I'd say that the 15 possessions have been more valuable. :)

Yeah I know he does great work around the ground. But somehow we need to give Spud another chance and giving Chris a week off for belting someone (who apparently deserved it) could be seen as a reasonable outcome.

I'd like to see Murphy play this week too, but which 4 players would you drop for Farmer, Schammer, McPharlin and Charlie Murphy? Walker, Cook, possibly Warnie for 1 week, and ??????. I'll be extreeeeemely surprised if Matt Carr gets dropped, but he should.
If Murphy continues to kick bags for South without getting an opportunity it will start to make the Tarrant deal look really bad.
MIght be time for Crowley to have a run in the 2's. I really like him as a player but he's been awful lately IMO. The other name that never seems to get mentioned is Soloman. He does some good things but he's hardly a match winner and dropping him opens up a forward spot. Are we allowed to give him a week off or is he protected species because we sold the family silver to get him and Tarrant?

Neither Murph nor The Wiz have been named for South Freo this weekend. Kiwi is playing for the Cardies. East Freo list isn't up yet, so don't know about Foster.
Good news for the Spud I would think. :thumbsu:

Just a question - Murph and The Wiz, are they not allowed to play for South Fremantle this weekend? Would have thought another hit out before the Carlton game would have been good.

South Freo are playing West Perth in Carnarvon on the weekend. I would say that if Murph and The Wiz are playing next week in purple, that they have decided not to send them up there for probably any number of reasons...
Also, the EF team has now been posted.
Foster - HFF
Ibbotson - HBF
Peake on the wing...

Taz will have to try and pry his spot back off Spud.
Could end up having longer then a week on the sidelines when he rips up the Blues.

There's plenty of room for Murph and Taz in the forward line. The worst thing about it all is that we've wasted half a season of not having Pav, Wiz, Taz and Murph out there together developing some chemistry - even if we do make it to finals, they will have at best 8 or 9 weeks to get things right. If that forward line can't regularly kick winning scores, then we've got real problems.
