Funny How Brian Strachn (Strachnie) and Peter Helliar are never seen together.

Bit of a beat up.
You get the impression there's a bunch of wowsers sitting around, just waiting to be offended at something.
And in typical fashion, he's in hasty retreat.
Whatever happened to free speech as an Australian value?

We're living in a Nanny State.
Hahahha what a beat up!
Every American comedian/talk show host makes jokes about stds with people like Paris Hilton.
What about the aids jokes on South Park, get a grip, the news is more offensive!

About time Helliar apologised for what he calls "comedy".

Yes, because it wasn't even funny

It's probably just a way for a little known support group to get some media space for free. You'd have to be a pretty pathetic individual to be offended by the comment... unless you're Pamela Anderson.

You know, the 'Albino Society of America' attempted to sue the producers of 'The Da Vinci Code' for it's negative portrayal of Albinos. They were worried that the movie would further increase the stereotype that all Albino's murderous lunatic monks.
It's the world we live in now.
But yes, Peter Helliar should be made to apologise for at least 90% of his jokes.

The difference is that the albinos might have something to complain about. I heard about an interview with the guy who plays Draco in the Harry Potter films and he's suffered from depression due to people associating him with the character he protrays, "How could you do that to poor Hermoine you ***********!" and so on. There are a lot of stupid people out there.

No, but thats because I dont know what he said and cant be bothered opening the article for more whingeing about crap
About time Helliar apologised for what he calls "comedy".
Harsh call if you ask me.
He's far better than other people that call themselves "comedians"

He's bloody funny, but reading that article I thought his joke is distasteful. Apologize just to cease any futher discussion but all in all, it wasn't anything too over the top, just distasteful IMO

Totally blown out of proportion. Why? Not because hepatitis was mentioned but the mere fact the word "joke" was used to describe the context. Joke would imply a comedian.
Without taking the piss out of people comedy would cease to exist. of course there are some lines you cant cross, but other than that its open slather.

I only laughed when I saw the Headline
Comedian apologises for Hep C joke
Peter Hellier is no comedian
If hellier is to apologise for that, Matt Stone and Trey Parker should be locked in jail.
Rediculous. It's just the hepititus council trying to get some free publicity for their cause.
Hellier should come out and tell them to shove their apology up their hepititis-ridden arses.

He's an idiot and not funny. Maybe he should apologise for that instead.

Saw a story on this on Today Tonight... Tonight. It was about when comedy goes too far and of course they used it to have another go at The Chaser. How is it that we've become more conservative than the US? Bloody ridiculous.
