what a crock of shit.
Has anyone recieved any decent amount of rainfall? We have barely had anything where I am, down south.
I hate it when they make all these big claims all day about bunkering down, sure it has been a bit windy, hardly the reported 120kmph.
Have we just avoided it here, or is there nothing out there?

Im up in the Hills and it awfully windy up here but not much else. I heard on the news that the system is moving too quickly and is blowing the rain away. Cant say I am shocked, its friggen breezy up here !!!

I heard something like 50mm predicted in the hills.
How can it be a storm if they are not predicting rain?
My parents are in Auckland and they saw a weather warning for Adelaide somewhere on tv over there, they were getting worried.
I look forward to storms so Im a bit disappointed tonight, I didnt want any damage caused to anyone but a nice lightning show would of been nice.

Yeah I dont mind the rain and lightning but the way this wind is up here there could be some fair damage around the place. Oh and we wouldnt have had 5mm let alone 50

thats weird, I live in Chandlers Hill, which isnt far from Corro and its barely raining here, we had a one minute down pour not long ago but nothing major.

I had the power go out just before.
For one whole second. What a pain in the ass, now everything has to be reset for 1 second of the power being out.

all i know is that the missus said it was raining a shite load up there so i mean im not there to witness first hand. i think we will feel the worst of it soon.

This wind has brought one of my gum trees down onto one of my sheds up here in Nairne.
Going to be busy with the chainsaw tomorrow I think. Not much rain though, just the odd icy spit to make going outside and checking on the lifestock feckin freezin.

I wasnt refuting your claim, I was just saying how its weird how such a "massive" storm can be so fickle.

sadly no. injured my spine in a car accident a few years ago, and though it doesnt stop me from doing anything now it aches like a borsted if I run around.
played for Roopena a bit in Whyalla growing up, but I was never that good lol

yeah, definately something you dont want to take a risk with.
I played against nairne last week, although they are down on players they still gave us a big push.

Weve had a fair bit of rain in the last hour or so. The wind seems to drop slightly when it rains, then picks up again after it finishes
A few streets have starting to flood round my neck of the woods, along with the driving wind and rain. But I couldn't care less sitting in front of my nice warm heater.

Couple of mates went down the beach. King tide hit. Said the water was seriously high. Birkenhead was/is under water, they went down grange jetty and they said the waves were crashing over the jetty. Sounded pretty crazy.
Here in the western suburbs there has been crazy wind all afternoon/night. Really strong winds. Raining on and off. Pouring down for 3 minutes then not much, then rain then not much.

Not much damage in my town at all but there seems to be in other spots here in the Hills. Sure was a pretty windy night with little rain, not to bad here now though. The sun is out and the wind has dropped massively.

It got real bad for us here late last night. It ripped the roof off the pergola. Also some of the roads and playgrounds and stuff nearby are flooded and a few trees down around the area.

Yer it is not a storm as such as we all know it ie individual thunderstorm, it is a low pressure system to the south with a tight pressure gradient and strong winds over a LARGE area. Those 120km/hr wind gusts occured with this system at Cape Willoughby, tho they were not expected in Adel, just upper end possibilities for more exposed locations. It was quite a fast moving system so rain isnt huge but the actual progs of total rain are not just from yesterday but more an accumulation over a few days. Tho some areas of adelaide got a dry slot, that is just how things go.
All the warnings and forecasts were justified and pretty much spot on.
Still a lot of damage beach wise at least anyways, probably the most in Adelaide since May 1994 when the jetties copped a similar belting.

No, not really, we didnt get that much wind here. It is normally fairly windy here on its day and i didnt notice anything out of the ordinary here.
hence why I asked the question if it is affecting anyone else.
