Gotchin stood out for me today at the u18 championships. He is one player RFC would be able to beef up as he is already solidly framed and has good defensive and attacking skills. I can see the attraction of Kruezer but I believe he wont be the ruck panacea for us - He is a Pavlich style KP. Will Sullivan did a great job in atrocious weather in the ruck and could be, if still available, a good 2nd round pick-up.

If we dont take 1 of either Kreuzer or Morton then the whole football department at RFC should resign.

I seem to recall Miller missing out on drafting someone because he had misspelt their name? Please Greg don't follow my lead on draft day!

they read out their number first, dont they? then the name.
Imagine if we ended up with Cyrus Gotchin of the Wonthaggi Youth Club Reserves, instead of Cotchin?

:):) I think it happened during trade week and it caused him to miss the deadline??? But the way I'm going that may also be wrong:D

We missed a trade that would have sent Zantuck to Essendon because Miller missed the deadline. We cut Zantuck, he went to Essendon, no harm done.
Getting late-picks in the draft can be a nuisance - you have to use them and you have to cut an extra player to free up the spot. We were actually offered a late-pick to sweeten the Pat Bowden deal but knocked it back for that reason.
If we dont take 1 of either Kreuzer or Morton then the whole football department at RFC should resign.
If we take Morton 1 then we are in trouble. He is a soft, outside, linkman. He can't play tall or KP. He doesn't win his own footy. He reads the play brilliantly and kicks superbly - but he is a playmaker and that is a bit of a luxury.

is this the kid who's barely had a kick thru the U18 championships, leave him alone I say, has Meyer and Jon written all over him...its one thing to knock up leather poisoning playing part time bums out at Oakleigh, its another thing all together when tested against the best of the best...Know what barometer Id be using:rolleyes:

I'd be thinking - Cotchin was the guy WA targetted with a heavy tag at a time when Palmer was running loose because Metro were trying to shut down Masten.
I'd be thinking that the Metro-SA game was completely irrelevent because it was played in torrential rain and looked like an under-10 rugby match. Absolutely no point in watching that match and no way you can make any meaningful conclusions from it.
Cotchin will be drafted top-5. He is class. The only question is whether Richmond can afford to use such an early pick on a Nathan Brown, Garry Ablett, Dale Thomas type match-winning small forward? Do we have so many other priorities that we have to go with Pettifer, Tambling and Meyer and target genuine midfielders and genuine talls with our first pick?
