CHANNEL 7's Leigh McClusky dropped a double bombshell yesterday, quitting Today Tonight - to have twins.
Her departure comes as the current affairs program last week notched up 250 consecutive ratings wins, dominating its 6.30pm timeslot since March 2001.
Leigh has been with the program since its inception in January, 1995, but will go to air for the last time on August 17.
While Channel 7 is yet to announce a replacement host, whispers indicate Rosanna Mangiarelli will slot into the role, having filled in for Leigh on several occasions.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in Today Tonight from the initial uphill battle to watching it grow to triumph above the competition," Leigh says.
"One of the most exhilarating moments I can recall was being on the ground at the MCG seconds after the Crows won the 1997 Grand Final for a story on Today Tonight."
After marrying Simon in March, 2000, the couple welcomed their first child, Murdoch, in July, 2002, and a daughter, Sigourney, in May last year
