At least they won't cop it in the media this week.

West and Grant injured as well, slightly evens things up.

Brad Johnson not at 100% either.

Mcveigh if given the all clear will get him one would assume. He did a very very good job on him last year.

Yeah he's the ideal matchup. I'm struggling to think of a good matchup if he misses though. MJ would probably be done for pace. I wouldn't really like to see Nash left so deep, same with Slattery, and it would be a lot of responsibility for Hislop. McPhee is one but if Fletch misses we might want to use him more offensively.

The question is who will Mal play on? I'd be almost tempted to rest him to be honest.

Yeah that's a huge question. I doubt Eade will do us any favours by playing a big bloke up forward either. I'd still pick Mal though. If we pressure them enough through the midfield and force them to kick to contests forward he will monster them.

The results have gone our way thus far.
We need Hawthorn to beat Adelaide.
That would give us game on the Crows, a game on the winner of Freo/Sydney and two games on the loser of Freo/Sydney and StKilda.
Richmond getting up against the Roos would be handy too ;)

I actually think think they might do it.
About next week, if we can even break even in the midfield we should blitz the dogs and i'd almost be tempted to leave Johns in and streth their defence without Grant. They'll have a heavy reliance on young Williams and Harris which i think we can expose.

D-day next week against the Dogs.
If West doesn't play then I think that evens up the outs a little.
Winner will play finals while the loser will struggle.
Well the Saints have done their job for us by losing a game they should have won given the margin they got in front. at the end of the day we are still in a positon to control our own destiny. If we win four of the next 8 we should just get in. If we dont then we simply havnt been good enough.

Without West?
Without Grant?
Johnson in doubt?
Someone care to fill me in?

West went off early with an apparent groin.
Johnson isn't in doubt but he is lacking a bit of zip and the commentators made reference to him carrying something the last couple weeks.
No idea about Grant. Watched the last quarter and didn't see him.
Grant was off the ground icing his hammy in the last quarter.
As far as Johnson goes he has been carrying a niglle for a number of weeks now so i suspect he may come up.

Eade said after the game that both West and Grant would miss next week. Think Grant might of done a hammy.

Don't like to see anyone get injured but that's pretty good timing for us. They don't have many natural ball winners left apart from Cooney who has hurt us in the middle in the past.
Good chance for JJ to exert some influence or someone like Lonergan to come in and impress.

Will be a very interesting match next week due to injuries from both teams.

Is the game on Foxtel or free-to-air?

Johno played with an injury most of last year and made AA Captain - so don't write him off - but yes has a calf niggle.
We are missing real quality in the midfield with Cross and griffin out (70 posessions between them each game) - which is where we bet you last year.
West will play - haven't heard yet about granty - but haven't discounted him yet.
Harris is in career best form - Petrie got the better of him last week but he was in huge pain in that first quarter - the runners kept topping him up with pain killers - then he came good in the second half but the damage was already done.
The injuries from both teams will even things up -should be a good game - too close for me to call.

You sure West will play because Eade said that he won't play yesterday.

Darcy will go forward for the better part of the game.. mal will take darcy...
the brad johnson match up will be the match decider imo... mcphee should get a go, if things turn sour though there is always mcveigh/slattery...
mcveigh will probably be the best possible matcher

i wouldnt listen too much to this post. west is far from a definate. he is in some serious doubt as is grant.... apparently grant has a better chance of pulling up then west because they dont know whether its a hammy or a corky.....

Because Bulldogs don't have a big strong forward, I think we should bring in a few small back men. NLM comes to mind.

Yeh, im pretty sure West and Grant arn't going to play. Grant will probably miss with a hamstring problem whilst West with a hip flexor/adductor injury.
