What an undeserving piece of usless vermon this **** is. Surely the Vics could have found a more suitable candidate.I will declare my hand and state that i hate his style, his commentry both radio and TV and find him nothing more than a caustic old has been. IM sure there will be those that appluade the decision and maybe my personal dislike towards him will leave me with egg on my face but .haa, i can live with that.

The Vics seems to go through coaches like tissues, i wonder how long he will last!
Swap you David Hookes for Greg Chappell.

I think we need to give David Hookes a decent chance before writing him off. The VCA obviously went through the process of choosing the best candidate and I for one am looking forward to seeing what David Hookes can do with our squad. :)
Cheers!!

My my what a bitter and sad person you are. You 'two-heads' just can't get over the fact that he used to destroy your bowling at every opportunity (especially that fateful day at Adelaide oval for 306) and actually told the truth about you lot and your mating habits concerning your siblings, can you?
ps. I hope there's not too many big words in there for you.
Stuff the big words. If Hookes can geet some consistancy into our middle order batsmen then he will go a long way to having a team that can challenge for the Sheffield shield title.
the Vics better put in a consitent year with the bat or they will be doomed for ever... they need to get some reject players from other states because the current local players just cant cut it.

Yeah our batting has been weak for ages. Right now only Elliott, Hodge and Harvey have cemented stops in our batting line up.
I reckon Hookes will make us a more agressive team and get rid of players like Mott and Arnberger. If we are gonna open with a NSW reject than why don't we just get Slater?
I reckon Collin Miller will benefit from this most. Hookes will give him a go for sure.

Ian Harvey is a sad excuse for a batsmen.

Mate I never called him a good batsmen, I just said his spot was cemented in our batting line up. I think our batting line up is so bad that we must play Cameron White at 7 so we have more depth. We can't continue having Berry at 7, his batting isn't up to it.

Rocco,
You're absolutely spot on there mate!! If Elliott or Hodge fails, our batting is very ordinary and apart from Michael Klinger who started to come through last season, we don't appear to have much coming through the ranks.

I couldn't understand why Colin wasn't given a go when he's clearly still one of the best off-spinners playing in this country!!

Jars458,
Ian Harvey is an all-rounder and shouldn't be batting any higher than #6 in the Pura Cup. Therefore, his average of 31.33 is quite reasonable for someone playing the all-rounder role in a side.

What do you guys have against David Hookes?
I've always found him to be quite entertaining, but you people have probably seen more of him than what I have.
