All things considered, it's rather fortuitous that Deledio is missing this match as it'd be one less match-up to worry about.

Who do we really need to be concerned about?

Foley and Richo are the obvious ones, and i'm hoping that Sewell bounces back from his terrible game last week and just concentrates on sitting on Foley for 2 hours.

Richo will probably find himself matched up on Croad, but Brown could be a chance here allowing Croad to swing to the forward line.

Nathan Brown is another key match-up, and novelty aside, Brown could be a good match-up on him. If Brown plays on Richo however, Guerra could be a chance here.

It's ironic in many ways, but Tambling is another who could prove a big headache if he's allowed to have a big first quarter like vs the Weagles. He's a difficult person to match-up on, but Ladson could prove to be the man.

I just hope that Ladson doesn't play as sa loose man like he did in the first quarter last week.

Others?

I watched Rich/Nth on Fox active. They had a camera soley following the Foley/Rawlings matchup. Foley is totally unacountable when the opposition has the ball which would make Sewell close to a sure thing. Big chance to get the 3 votes too!

5 Key match Ups:-

Trent Croad vs Matthew Richardson

Brad Sewell vs Nathan Foley

Campbell Brown vs Nathan Brown

Joel Smith vs Kayne Pettifer

Rick Ladson vs Richard Tambling

If we can stop these 5 it should be enough to win the match. A special mention to Robbie Campbell stopping Troy Simmonds. He has a 2 matches back now, and we don't want a return to form or dominent performance from him.

Will be tough, but should edge out a win, HODGEY to FIRE!

I think:

Brown will get Richo

Sewell will get Foley

Laddo will get Tambling

Smith will get Brown

Gilham will get Pettifer

That allows Croad to go forward.

Bowden and Polak playing as loose men? Might need someone to cover one off them so they dont get too many easy kicks.

Honestly cant understand the urge to play Croad forward. He can't kick goals!

I worry that willos absence is going to start becoming more prevalent as the year ticks on//especially from last week onwards!1with dicko and boyle also out, we lack a general in the forwardline//to keep buddy and roughie honest, for all their boundless ability we need croad up there i think, not only as the third tall option, but for his experience, and he can kick goals,,at least if anything he will take there best backman!and allow buddy and roughie to concerntrate on runnig amok,,.thats why im a big believer if jacobs is out we ave to bring in THE COUGAR MAN DAWSON!! AND WE AVE TO FIND A SMALL 4WARD maybe tommy murphy??or little?spewing ossies out he plays that small defensive 4ward role so well!!:thumbsu:

Richmond will play 5 defenders on our 4 forwards, they have 2 specialist loose men in Polak and Bowden.

Kangeroos were able to hit targets inside 50 with pinpoint kicking. If we go long like the last 2 weeks we arent going to score much more.

If our midfield is switched on, we'll dominate. Thats our main advantage, they have 2 match winners up forward, and adequate down back if Polak gets loose.

yea, this will be interesting, especially considering our box foward line which will gove polak and bowden so much room to move

might even have to "tag them" with a foward like carrazzo has done many times for carlton, if thr drive from back 50 is to prevalent

might need to flood the FORWARD line lol

hope it doesn't turn out to be a boring game with either team flooding excessively, (or i guess at all, but they will)

Richardson too big for Brown. Brown has played on more mobile KPP like Lucas and Pavlich successfully. Richardson is a different type of player and Croad has too get him.

Like your match ups Cradle of Filth.

In regards to Polak I would try and sit a dangerous type on him that will keep Polak at least a little accountable because with no Boyle we are more predictable going forward. Ideally that player would be Hodge, but Joel Smith may work.

There is no way in the world Campbell Brown will play on Richo!!! Croad to get first crack, and if not, Gilham.....

We cant afford to allow Polak to play the loose man a fill the hole continually with mark after mark

yeh richo, brown and foley are the dangers... pettifer might get a couple too if we're not careful. the matchups above sound about right. i hope franklin has a blinder... i remember when he debuted against the tigers, he kicked 3. hahah

Foley is not the sort of player Sewell can tag. I'd consider letting Sewell tag Brown myself.

The two players that concern me are Simmonds & Pattison. If Simmonds finds some form he's far too good for our ruck department and I watched Pattison destroy Adelaide...only really good game I've seen from him though so I might be over-rating the kid.
