This guy is a gun. We are missing him so badly, no other player averages 3 goals a game. He will give us a massive boost come round 19 or 20. We'd have to be the only team with the best goalkicker out, other threads suggest trading him. We have put 7 years into this bloke, why the hell would we even think about trading him?

He is the missing piece of the forward line. Can lead hard and well but can also crumb and pick the ball off the deck and snap a few as well.

he plays good in the wet too and is a great mark and potent kick
i have no doubt had he played all year we would not only have beaten the crows but prob would have also beaten the bullies, the swans, freo, ...

we could very well be on top sitting on 13-1

we definately need him back soon..........

Is having a delayed recovery and there is a small chance he may not return this season.

I hope he can get back up and going in time for finals if we make it.

Actually I think having him out of the side has straightened us up a bit. We are now more prepared to go long and direct to a marking one on one contest. Willo had a tendency to lead to the pockets because he knew he was still a very good chance of nailing them from there. Having said that there is still definitely a place in our side for him. He may not get the supply he was accustomed too but that is because the load will be shared. Oh happy days.

won't have as many opportunities but will still get enough of it

after all over the past two seasons...

2005: 63 goals 23%
2006 60 goals 22%

this large % of goals hasn't happened well back into the Dunstall days, and even he had three seasons when leading goal kicker which yielded %'s below 20

Hmmm. A very vexed subject.

Degenerative bone condition is one that may end his career. I hope not. I love him.

What is the win/loss this year with and without him?

Obviously with won more without him but that doesn't mean when his fit he doesn't slot straight back in & make us even better.

absolutely with ya on this one shotta... how quickly some forget the big guns... don't expect him to come out firing though because history says those with knee injuries take some time to get back in the groove... BUT this guy has always been a freak, with tonnes of ability... used to watch him alot during his BH days and would always pull something out of the bag..... just a freak.... anyways good luck to mark and hope to se him soon. TRADE????? NO WAY!!!!!!!

He'll play finals but whether he should or not is another matter. Id love him in, but boy he will be rusty..

Having said that, he completes the Buddy Box...

Best team isnt necessarily best 18 players. Clarkson has long said the team wont challenge with him at FF. Question is can he play on a flank and will he disrupt the other fwds?

I have a feeling that in his abscence others play better and the load is shared. Didnt he miss the last few last year when the team put a run together?

Jeff Hogg was Richmonds best player. Afterwards it became pretty clear why they traded him. If this injury is as Gary suggests you may find the club has a good think about it particularly after recent experiences with Holland and Barker (and going back further Ben Allan).

want to put a few $$$ on that?

chances of him playing again this year are slim to zero

closest summation to his problem ive seen on here... he will be back... but to what degree is the question... McLeod had a similar injury several years ago and has a chronic degenerative condition... so take heart in his resilience thus far...

Is this similar to what Rawlings had?

funny this thread ... i was flicking thru the kangas game from earlier in the year and one thing we truly miss is his accuracy in front of goals. We have so many youngsters missing sitters the last few weeks and i had to remind myself how Willo just used to calmly kick most of what he touched ...

Hope he comes back !

WTF? Why can no one give a straight answer of his injury?

It is either his knee is stuffed and we will never see him again or he will be back round 18-20.

against the CATS in the last game of the year.

Certainly not me!!its a shame so many supporters can be so fickle and forget the guns of the team when they arent there and we r doing well!!i overheard alot of people suggesting that we dont need buddy in the side because hes bad for rougheads progress,,is inhibiting him from becoming the 1st round draftpick champion we are all waiting for!!CRAP! supporters need to remember its a team game with 22 players out there every week!!if roughead gets injured then buddy takes up the slack vice versa//and now with willo out some fans are saying trade him//CRAP! OUR FORWARDLINE will only become more potent when he comes back!!hes the best forward in the game under 6 foot!! and still our best forward in my opinion!! geez im glad some of these supporters werent running the hawthorn footy club back in the 80"s what would ave they done??traded dunstall because hes kicking all of dermies goals??

This was my point. When people start to suggest trading Williams they have obviously forgotten how good he is and how important he will be.

true, i mean he isnt a matchwinner like dunstall was, would have made a smaller contribution.
is still a good and decent footy player.
should be good watching franklin over time :thumbsu:

disagrree. he is the unforgotten injured forward who will struggle to play well in the hawthorn side this year.
