Does anyone think that the fact that he is now at Geelong will help us in our preparation this week? Does the inside knowledge that a former assistant coach or player of a side help their current team's planning, or do teams change game plans on a regular basis so any prior knowledge is made redundant?

Definitley will. Although he may have a confidentiality agreement with the pies I would still expect him to be able to offer advice about player match ups.

I think any insights he may give will be minor.

Most definitely. Not that we'll need it ;)

There would have been no confidentiality agreement. For all intents and purposes they sacked him. More fools them!;)

And I not only think he will be very useful this week as he knows how Malthouse coaches, but I reckon he's played a major role in our change of fortune this year.

I'm a big believer that the acquisition of Balme has been a really good move by the club this season. As a Norwood supporter (Balmey coached us to two premierships) I already hold the big fellow in high regard.

GO BALMEY

Couldn't agree more !
His people skills must be fantastic because there has been not only a physical change at the club, but a mental change which has helped us out in tougher games to see them through till the end.

Balmeh... doesn't work really.
He will be either Blame Me when we suck. Or Bla-Meh when he's on the okay.

honestly the whole collingwood team is completely different to last year anyway so any help will be extremely minor.

We have Adrian Fletcher anyway who did some work at Geelong for a while.

In comparison though, Balme would have it all over Fletcher with regards to knowledge of their previous club...
