How many games did he play for the dogs? Noticed his son has been in the best players for the WA under 18 team...was hoping he played 100, although I doubt it

Some here disagree but I reckon about only 1 good one for us v West Coast on a very wet Whitten Oval.

In terms of F/S, certain it was less than 100 and possibly less than 50.

Took a while to find his feet, being one of our 86 "boom" recruits along with McGuiness, but played several good games both at CHF and CHB. Struggled through some injuries in 86 that were not publicised, so was judged harshly, especially compared to McGuiness. By 87, with Foster, gave us flexibility because both could play at either end, but because the club as a whole struggled to live up to expectations following the 85 season, Rance's level of performance was marked down in light of this. Only played 2 seasons, then went on to eventually captain West Coast, whose entry into the competition probably robbed us of a long career from Rance at the WO.

Best game I saw him play was against us. We needed to win to make finals and he played on Peter Foster who was in great form at CHF. Rance killed him and we lost the game. :(

Came with a big reputation did Rance. Not one of Malthouse's favourites bit slow and soft, good mark though.Took of to the West Coast in 88 made captain in 89:eek:Funnily enough as soon as Mick arrived as coach Rance was stripped of the captaincy and delisted at the end of 91.:D
