2006 average home game attendence - 34,071 (finished 11th)
2007 average home game attendence - 44,223 (3rd)

Massive difference, IMO Tassie fans could take a leaf out of Richmond's book and support their club in the bad times as well as the good times :)

Don't worry about that. What is of more concern is how the AFL will cope with watching games at a half full SCG when the Swans become bottom feeders again. For fair weathered supporters, you need look no further than Sydney.

I'd love to compare the WCE crowds from 2001 to now. Most teams get more supporters when they are playing well.

As was already mentioned - Richmond have been down for so long the supporters have no choice!

Nice effort at changing the focus. When Port roll you this week will you have lost 5 from the last 9?

Don't tell anyone but I've got it on good authority that Kerr will top the possessions tally this week. Get on.

As opposed to Tiger fans who have only managed to lift their membership over 30,000 once. Think it will last next year when your 5 plan is exposed for the poor excuse it is. Or will the tail wag the dog again at Punt Road and the players will force out another coach.

IMO Ted Give Fred Head could take a leaf out of HotFlog's book and learn to spell when trolling Hawthorn.
Once again, he's mispelled a word in the thread title, displaying his lack of intelligence to all and sundry.

Or maybe that's his schtick. He's another of HotFlog's aliases (like Kinders) and deliberately tries to appear like a brainless Eagle to throw us off the scent.

Very happy that Hawthorn's crowds are up.

Maybe Richmond could take a leaf out of Hawthorn's book and win a few games, then maybe a few of their bandwagoners would turn up as well.

How's the view looking up at everyone from the bottom of the ladder? But then again, you probably enjoy trying to sneak a peek up everyone's trouser leg. You are to football what the handbrake is to the motor car.

Good to see a staunch tiger fan supporting failure. But of course you're just a loyal fan who'll stick by Wallet and his 50 year plan. Tigers wouldn't eat their own would they? Just ask Jewel, Bartlett, Northey, Walls, Bartlett, Frawley et. al.

Whichever way you choose to look at it, your club is a basketcase, and you, the coachspitting, manure-dumping fans are no better. Your envy of our club is of immense enjoyment to hawks. Goodbye.

Just some basic facts (and I know Hawks supporters and facts are swarn enemies)
1) If you count our membership in the same way the Hawks count theirs, ours is about 37,000

2) Richmond had the third highest attendance at games in the H & A season last year.

3) If the Hawks have all these supporters, where are they when they needed them. The hawks relocated a good proportion of their home games to Tassie for money with out so much as a whisper of protest from their bandwagon fans. If there was a risk of that happening at Tiger land we would band together and raise the money. We would rattle tins if need be.

Why are hawks supporters the least loyal of all AFL supporters?

Hawthorn have 31,000 (4th in Victoria) TICKETED members, Richmond have 30,000 (7th in Victoria)

Richmond's 7,000 pets don't count.

2) Richmond had the third highest attendance at games in the H & A season last year.

Big deal, that was last year...on a totally unrelated matter the Hawks had the 3rd highest attendance in 2002...relevent? no, but then again most/if not all your posts are hardly relevent either.

So we've moved from having no fans to the most bandwagoners...at least we are moving up in the world

Richmond fans are 'loyal' because they are one and one with being shit, baring in mind the last time the Tigs ruled the roost timeless classics such as Blondie's classic 'Call me', 'Another one bites the dust' and Devo's 'Whip it' dominated the airwaves...

And last year you finished 9th. This year your getting the big kitchen utensil.

So what really is your point?

Why are hawks supporters the least loyal of all AFL supporters?

I posted this in another thread last week, but I'll repeat it for your benefit....

We moved 4 home games to Tasmania this year - fact.

Hawthorn and the AFL replaced these games with away games available to Hawthorn Members free of charge - fact. (So far I have been to the North, Carlton and Collingwood away games just by showing my membership).

The Collingwood game at the Dome was a ticketted seating game only so members had to pay a booking fee to get their seat. Hawthorn have advised all members with out of pocket expenses to apply for a refund through the club - fact.

Increase in membership by attracting additional members though Tassie Association - fact.

Supporters like you are just too bitter and twisted to admit that the Tigers have missed another opportunity to pull themselves out the mire at Punt Road. Hawthorn have done the right thing and if you ask most supporters they will agree.

Plus we now have a genuine home ground advantage unlike the MCG.

Well said - although you could argue that the members we gained through the Tassie association we also lost through a drop in Victorian members, but if we counted our membership in the same way Richmond do....we would have 38,000+ members - including freebies, non ticketed and pet memberships...

But back on topic, how is this a negative...isn't it a healthy sign for the football club that the club is now starting to draw big crowds?

Surely its better to have a big bandwagon then no support at all?

Yeah. Agreed.

The difference is that other supporters are too confronted by it. It's actually a sign that they find us so intimidating with our on filed prowess that they have to find somehing else to have a go at us for.

And unlike most of the Richmond Trolls on BF I can remember their last flag.:D

Plus it it seriously a blight on the Tigers that it's taken until 2007 to break 30,000 members. From what drivel they spout about how solid their support is, their membership is rank.
