did it feel like the first half we were pushing shit up hill and playing 22 players and 4 umpires. disgrace!

Umpiring was pretty even across the field I would say. A couple of bad decisions for both sides, nothing major.

I agree they seem to let a few frees for us go in the first half but overall it wasn't too bad today. Umpires always make mistakes, it would be boring if they didn't because then we would have no-one to yell at.

I will say after the first half they were good. And i understand mistakes. but there was a good 15-20 period where they didnt award us the most blatent frees and payed absolute bullshit back the other way.

There were about 4-5 play on not 15s that were probably 15 or more, then Collingwood got away with one that was even shorter. I lolled.

Yeah first half umpiring was terrible towards us, second half was okay, but if we had have lost in a close one I would have been devastated due to some of the decisions they made.

Also how do Collingwood get a free when one of our runners gets in the way of one of our own players?

Some of those 15 calls were funny, when the Pies kicked shorter for marks paid!

The runner free was amazing, never seen it before. Our runner stuffs our player, Pies get the kick. Probably in the rules, but weird.

My main problem was Clokes free kick for high contact, when he fell into the Cats player who was running past

I just found the umpiring utterly confusing, I'd have to watch a tape to decide who did better out of it. The Pies probably had more frees, but you had a few in front of goal. Either way, the better team won on the day.

Umpiring wasn't the greatest but it wasn't the worst. Both sides copped a couple of bad decisions. Wasn't happy when Kelly tackled a magpie on the wing and got penalised for slinging though...

I just get dumb founded by the whole deliberate out of bounds. First quarter, collingwood player clearly kicks it up the line and out - no free. 10 minutes later Mackie does the same thing and gets penalised, only mackie was arguably under more pressure. I just wish there was some consistency.

Yeah, definitely. Umpiring swung back in the second half, but in the first we were absolutely robbed.

The maggots were working overtime in the first half pinging Corey but when he copped it he got bugger all. No probs with the second half.

They were two decisions that really made my blood boil. Wakelin under no pressure kicks to space and doesn't get pinged, Mackie under pressure, kicks over the head of Boris and gets pinged. Absolutely mind boggling. I'd love if they had press conferences with umpires after games where they are asked to justify decisions. Would love to hear the explanation for the Wakelin one. Was obvious what his intentions were.

I don't care is they are shit, as long as they are consistent. Today they were extremely inconsistent. But at the end of the day we won so it doesn't bother me:thumbsu:

Collingwood had the better in the first quarter then we had the better in the 2nd......the 2nd half was pretty even.

Wasn't a terrible game for umpiring, they let a lot go which is nice to see.

i thought today the the umps followed the rules and made correct descisions most of the time, its just the new rules which are crap
