I think it's time for the 'home team - dark shorts' rule to be scrapped. Why do we put shorts ahead of the guernsey? I'm happy to wear our white shorts every week if necessary, and it would have greatly mitigated somewhat of a clash that occurred today - I noticed a few times we handpassed straight to a Collingwood player for no reason.
To me, it just seems ridiculous that we are all happy to play with guernseys yet the shorts are sacred.
Geelong in white shorts today and Collingwood in black shorts would have been fine. And it would save so many other clashes, for many clubs, in the future.

ive heard alot of people talking about this, the pies also said they wouldnt wear an alternate strip because it would break tradition as they have never worn a different jumper, even though they have worn many over their time

In fairness, if Collingwood had worn their clash jumper it would have created more of a clash.
My point is simple; why is it fine to create hideous clash jumpers, when the shorts must not be touched?

Because they feel they must keep with tradition.
It's a silly charade the Pies keep up, thinking 'Tradition' might just win a premiership.

I'll say it once more, this has nothing to do with Collingwood. This is an AFL issue.
We should have worn white shorts today. I want to know why the guernsey is able to be 'destroyed', but the shorts are sacred.

Like I said. It's tradition. It will be an 'Always been white short, always will' policy.
And I wasn't necessarily referring to Collingwood.
