the new Korn signle is out...sounds pretty cool to me i will be in line to buy the album this month
just wondering what you guys reaction was? one of my mates said the've gone mainstream (i asked for a definition of mainstream and she couldnt answer) i personally don't think so.

i heard it at a mates house and i thought it was fantastic. Havent heard enough of it to give a bette ropinion tho.
As for the mainstream thing pffttt. That comment is circa 1998. tell your friend shes missed the boat by 3 years on that one. It gets up my nose when people say they went mainstream. How can a band just instantly decide 'right...thats it, ive had enough of this, lets go mainstream'. You can differ your musical style a bit but that does not guarantee commercial success (well...not when it comes to teh metal genre anyway). Follow the Leader is 5 times the cd Life Is Peacy was. Just because Follow the Leader had a more produced sound (Life Is Peachy sounded like it was recorded on the back of a padded truck) and had a lot more killer tracks they reckon they sold out :confused: Dont get me wrong i like Life Is Peachy...but its a very shallow album...it has no depth compared to their other three albums. Follow the Leader is a fantastic album...and it is not a change in musical style...more like a slight evolution.
Korn were one of the first metal bands to get recognised commercially in the 90s. Not their fault if a whole bunch of people loved their music. A lot of people say they went commercial...were sellouts, have turned soft just so they can make money. I find those people to be uneducated idiots. If you listen to Korns sound...Issues is heavier and darker than anything theyve written before. Issues was hardly a commercial success either. Im expecting 'Untouchables' will be a tad darker and heavier again. Apparently from people that have downloaded teh cd already, it has a touch of a NIN element to it. Could be good!

also quite like the new Coal Chamber single 'fiend', hopefully they can put that mediocre 'chamber music' album behind them.

Big call that. I LOVED Chamber Music. It was different, but damn it was good. It showed that Coal Chamber were not just Korn clones. They added a dimension to their music and it worked. Songs like El Cu Cuy, Untrue, Not Living, Notion are some of their best songs. I got no problem with bands trying to find a name for themself and Coal Chamber did that with Chamber Music....they got rid of the Korn-clone tag. Good on em!

Amen to that!!! A pity she left the band. Shes gorgeous. The walls in my room used to be covered in pics of her and Coal Chamber. I counted 45 posters of Coal Chamber i had on my wall before taking them down to paint my room. Most will be goin back up!!
Mind you...the new bass player is pretty bloody good too. She took over from Rayna when Rayna was pregnant. Fiesty lookin red head!!!

Roadrunner had a industry function on Friday proclaiming they were jumping off the nu metal bandwagon and buried it cos it had no cred and everyone was jumping off it..
