Any thoughts that Joel may have a case to answer after what appeared to look like a strike to the chest, not sure who the pies player was but im pretty sure it was in the first minute or so after he layed a heavy tackle, Lets not hope so but it did make me wonder if he could cop 1 week ????, your thought please.

Nothing in it for mine. Didn't look like he even made contact, just seemed he was trying to knock the ball out from under his opponent. The fact his opponent just jumped up and ran off will help him I think, as if there was contact, he might have played for a free kick. Seen worse go unpunished, so Selwood should be ok, but who knows with the current MRP.

Didn't see it, but no doubt Collingwood will bleat loud enough about it.

ROFL. The contact was so light Swan didnt even move a bit after getting the tap.

No case to answer. And **** you Channel 10 for trying to turn it into something it wasn't. They should be more focused on fixing their shit coverage.

Does Joel become ineligible if he gets a reprimand?

If he goes....... What a joke.

It was part of the game, the atmosphere.... I got tummy tap and thats all. There was no malice in it.

If leo Barry gets off for practically taking lingas head off then Joel has nothin g to worry about. He hit the arm so lightly as said abaove Swan probably thought it was a mozzie bite

Of course he'll get off.

He doesn't play for Collingwood.;)

If he runs into trouble, is he still eligable for the rising star?

Watching the replay it looks like Selwood makes contact with his bicept (not his fist) and that he was attempting to knock the ball clear which he assumed (incorectly) was underneath Swan. Lingys little rib tickler on Dale Thomas was far worse and I doubt that will even get more than a glance from the match reveiw comittee.

No case for Selwood to answer in my opinion.

non issue. Not even close to being scrutinised by the match review panel.

Not sure where you guys are saying he was trying to punch the ball. You couldn't even see the ball on TV! Swan was right on top of it. It looked like a punch to the ribs to me. Tackle first and then 1 or 2 seconds later the fist comes in. The fact that Swan didn't even react to it would indicate that the contact was so minimal that the match review panel should skip over it.

I agree, regarding Selwood there wasn't much in it. Mooney I think is a concern though - haven't seen a replay, but his 'charge' didn't look good live.

Abslolutey no worries with Mooney bumping Swan.

Indeed. I played that a couple of times on replay and it was only late. There was nothing reckless or dangerous in it.

It was barely late. There was no arm raised or Mooney positioning himself to steamroll Swan.

Swan didnt show any emotion when Selwood hit him, if he did even hit him. With this in mind, Selwood will get 4 weeks from the MRP.

Seriously though if he does go for that then the game is dead. I love Joel! :D

The verdict is in. Selwood is in the clear. But if you watch the replay Swan did not show any reaction to the "punch". You would have to conclude that Selwood's punch is like being hit with a feather duster or Swan is as tuff as nails.

Mooney and CLingon are clear too.

If thats the incident i think it is, i thought Mooney was even pretty harshly done by in being given a 50 for it.

Commentators on the radio thought the same.It was in the act of spoiling.

Michael Christian should be ashamed of trying to get The General rubbed out. It was a cheap shot, and he knew it when he showed it because it there was nothing in it and didn't even appear to have made contact.

Which explains the girly laughter he made before and after showing it.

Thanks to Andy Maher for backing Selwood on this one, and ridiculing Christian for even bringing it up. I knew Christian was one eyed magpie, but he reached a new low on this one. Nice one ya tool.. Surely he can goes on Before the Game's "Tool of the Week" ? :thumbsd:

Michael Christian was doing his best to see Selwood suspended because he wants Pendlebury to win the Rising Star.

Selwood's 'punch' was mentioned again on radio yesterday (that he was treated leniently) - if you watch the replay - he missed and 'punched' the ground. There is no penalty for what might have been intended. Matter closed!
