Probably nothing new, but the Balme bit is interesting

Same story she brings up all the time. Bomber had ago at her a while ago asking her to drop it.

This a much more pro-Bomber article. She has admitted her admiration for our club but had reservations about his refusal to accept any responsibility for the way things were degenerating last year - and she was right (like her or not!) - so today's article didn't dwell on negatives - I thought it was good stuff - but then I'll take it from anyone at the moment!

I didn't know that about the leadership program. The bit about it being rejected by Collingwood I mean. Proves the whisper I heard that Balme was simply not listened to by the Pies heirarchy.

I have the most impeccable contact on Neil Balme ever and he came to see life at Collingwood as a seriously onerous joke. The endless politics and non-footballing people whose opinions would be shouted over his. The factional juggling among the collingwood eunuchs needed to get the ear of the emperor and his own slow freezing out of club was meant to be intentionally humiliating (remember he had to spend most of last year watching Collingwood games from behind the goals).

My source tells me he's so unbelievably happy at geelong that he swears the sky is bluer south of Williamstown

I recall that sitting behind the goals thing, no doubt they were easing him out, and trying to humiliate him. The leadership program is the most interesting - shows that Geelong listens to him and he has the knowledge of innovations. And it shows.

Another interesting point is about his personality - someone on SEN joked about him adding a touch of Zen - may not be far off the mark.

That is excellent to hear. Just the way he beams when he's in the coaches box and they occasionally show it is priceless!

On the other hand, Bomber is pretty freaking gaunt.

He must have had a little chuckle to himself after the game.

Must be gut wrenching for her to admit we have been so good, so far this year and to see the tigers having such a shocking run atm. It's been pretty boring to see her carry on about Geelong like she has, always going on about "that season" and making a mountain out of a mole hill, so I'm sure Bomber will be full of pride to prove the critics wrong about us.

Hey Forssy, Jak się masz?
I dont know about the cancer sticks but I reckon Caro is worthy of passing the hat around for donations towards reconstructive face surgery. Lets get her on the "Makeover".......
She is one reason i Dont watch Footy Confidential - that and the fact Gary Lyon presents like he is giving birth and bores me to tears........

Caro.... I remember watching Footy Classified the night after we played Richmond. She said that the Tigers were beaten by a side who is only mediocre at best. Still waiting for her to say she was very wrong with her evaluation.

you can't really blame her for thinking that. After 2006 and our first few games of the year we did look pretty medicore :P It wasn't until three or four weeks later that the media and others actually started to think that we may be a good team, with a good list.

She has retracted that. In an Age article she admitted that she had mistaken our Roos game for more of 2006 - and rightly so. Since then she has heaped a good deal of praise on the club, not just the team. No - she is not my mum!

She's rubbish. She rights about the politics of football more than the actual football itself. I've seen one positive article from her about us all year. That was Sunday, after our 10th win. Talk about late on the bandwagon. Robert Walls is the same. Too stubborn to change their opinions of us and will only do it when it's massively obvious...
