Players Simon Katich, Michael Slater, Greg Blewett, Damien Fleming, Shane Lee, Colin Miller, Ashley Noffke and Wade Seccombe will not have their contracts renewed with the Australian Cricket Board.

Just in case you wanted to know ;).

No surprise with Fleming though, hasn't he retired from first class cricket?

I think the keeper was Berry.

OK, I didn't know that about Fleming, I'm a bit behind aren't I? :p

he's been struggling with injuries of late and recently had shoulder surgery.

all i can say for flem is.. poor bastard.. he's been so good for Australia and injuries at the wrong time has plagued his career..

remember he almost took his 2nd hatrick against India in 99/00 at the adelaide oval??!? yes...

Sean Clingeleffer from Tasmania would be the next keeper in line after Adam Gilchrist.

Cheers!!

Damien Fleming has been one of Australia's most underrated bowlers in recent times. In my opinion, his efforts at Test level have been of a much more higher and consistent standard then the walking publicity machine, Brett Lee.

He was treated very shabbily not to be picked for at least one Test match during last year's Ashes series, when brett Lee never looked like being an influence.

But then again Brett Lee is a chance to break the 100mph barrier so he must be better.

Doesn't matter anyway now as he's been beaten to it. It's not a question of who gets there second he doesn't matter. I think Seacombe was a bit stiff to loose his but the other I hink were fair enough.

I reckon Katich is very, very unlucky

One season wonder

what about Blewett?

Great season in both forms of the game. Shocking.

Katich didn't deserve to get his contract renewed because he had a fairly ordinary first class season 2001/2002 with the Warriors. This was suprising because he did very well in his debut season in County Cricket.

Hopefully he can come back and have a good summer, and keep pushing his name, so the selectors can take notice again.
