He's been pretty consistent for most of the year for the Ants. Not so sure he'd be worth drafting later in the year, even if we only put him on our rookie list.

If I was to rookie a Bullants listed player next year it'd be "Yakka" Iacobucci. I don't think Houlihan has been that consistent, I think he has a tendency to go missing a little bit. Having said that he has played some very good games for the Ants this year.

Yakka is trying his guts out and is a very hard worker... I was pretty surprised the Pies cut him to be honest... I think he could well be worth a late pick, particularly if the draft doesn't have a lot of depth as they say.

Just my 2c.

Also, from Bullants' website
20. Houlihan Josh 12/01/84 184cm 82kg Coburg Tigers (VFL) 92 VFL games 98 VFL goals

Agreed i think iacobucci will get rookie listed if there is room. For those that don't know he was on Collingwoods list played a few games i think, and then was delisted.

Josh and Yakka are both great VFL players, and could probably ply their trade in the SANFL if they wanted, but the jump to AFL is beyond them. They've both had their chances at other clubs and didn't make it.

The difference with yakka is that he's showing a lot more playing for the bullants than he did when he was for williamstown

Beefy - Houlihan was taken late in the 2001 Super Draft to St Kilda. From all reports plays much the same as his brother, and lacks a bit of weight IIRC.

Word of caution, Yakka isn't an AFL player, I feel. Too small and lacks pace. Would be a good filler in a good side (ie: 27th best player).
