View Full Version : impressions on Fev today?
What are peoples honest impressions here.... I thought he played okay nothing great, but I really think for someone saying he wants to stay at carlton and wants to improve his attitude etc this wasn't a good enough game, I know this will take time, but when will this seriously happen and will he seriously improve on stay the same?

A good attitude is much more important now than playing a ripper. I think the club won't mind if he has a couple of shockers - it'll be much easier to judge whether he's changed or not when he's out of form, rather than kicking 6 every week. Here's hoping he gets himself right - wishful thinking, maybe, considering his history, but good Fev is a huge benefit to the team.

Fev was good.
He is passionate about winning and sometimes that can be misinterpreted.
The ball rarely got to him and when it did he always gave a good contest.
He was used as a decoy forward and started on the wing a lot and they moved back into the forward line.

He played reasonably well, and I was pleased to see him giving contests and doing the team thing more often than not.

2.4 wasn't a bad effort. Missed maybe 3 that he would usually eat up so needs to get his head clear and slot them through.
He reminded me of an addict just out of rehab. A little quieter and reserved, trying to remember the steps he promised he would take. It's a tough call because the best and worst of Fev comes from him being brash and carefree. I hope his little shock therapy session hasn't taken the edge off too much.
based on what i saw, his efforts were for show and not because he wanted to put in the effort. he was running at about 80% intensity.
doesn't make me think hen will be traded, just confirms that he can only ever put in 100% if he thinks we are a chance for finals.

I only saw the first half, so thats all i can comment on, but IMO in the first quarter he was fantastic. No he didn't take 10 marks or kick 5 goals, but he was focused on the team things. I never saw him once complain to the umpires, even though IMO he had every right to on a few occasions. He chased hard and continued to apply as much pressure as he could whenever the ball was in the vicinity. On one occasion i saw him chase the ball from deep in our forward 50 up to past the wing, never gave up, and eventually laid a tackle that turned over the ball and sent us forward again.
In the second quarter the ball never really went near him, but when it did he always provided a contest.
Seems he's trying to change his attitude.

Really didnt like the way he abused JK after he missed the shot he could have given off to Fev.....he has no idea how to help his young co forwards

He's selfish. Instead of patting on the back, he absuses the shit out of younger players. He's got to go at the end of the year.
Sorry everyone, but my patience with Fev has gone. I support the CFC not only a selfish FF who wants to be a hero.
He did not abuse him FFS
And he did nothing wrong yesterday

On a day where no one played that well, he did good. This weekend we should see a return to form

Hmm. Not what i've been reading and hearing.
The question is not whether he played ok, but whether he actually looked like a man on a mission, and whether he had a point to prove?
Was it any different from the normal ok Fev prior to his internal suspension? Was it an illustration of his desire and absolute want to play for this club?
He might have turned to him, and a said a couple of words, but he didn't berate him
and yes, i believe it was a different Fev yesterday

OK :)
Can i ask why?? I'm not being a smartarse, i'm just curious.
Are people saying that fev was good because he actaully was and has actually shown a turn around, or is it because they really want to believe that he has, even though he may have been the same?
He was good, because he was good
He chased, didn't argue with the umps, and certainly didn't abuse team-mates, or ignore them
