I'm looking for your opinions. What players or picks would you take for Dal Santo and why?
Would you want to keep him you like to see him go somewhere else?

No-one...whenever these debates come up about what we'd give up for such and such I don't think "Would I like such and such to play for us" but "I would NOT like such-and such (in this case Dal Santo) to play AGAINST us"... I put up the same argument for Milne last year... he is capable of equally great and dismal things but I would hate forhim to be brilliant against us and then think bitterly "He used to do that for us"... same applies to Dal - I want him to stay put - I don't care if you offer us Judd - I don't want to give up gold to get a diamond...

No Essendon player comes close to NDS so we wouldnt even think of trading him to the bombers

Forget trading Dal. Its not going to happen. You do not let your best players go...full stop.

Who for? Glen Coghlan?
Ward and Holland's destiny for 2008 does not include the collection of letters "AFL"

He isn't leaving St Kilda, but if a trade had to be done, from Essendon we would expect Davey, Winderlich and Laycock/top 10 draft pick. Others like Hislop, Gumbleton, Jetta, Stanton, Ryder and Watson might also be considered, but throwing in Bolton, Johns, Bradley, Heffernan etc will get you nowhere.

He was expected to re-sign this week.
Hopefully these kind of threads on Dal Santo and Riewoldt will be redundant in the very near future.

I disagree. Holland is a hack, granted. Ward, though, I think is OK.
Essendon would have to give us David Hille, Patty Ryder,1st Round Pick and SHeedy

surely an exageration there... playing til his 40? as good as he is he will retire at the end of 2008 imo.

Vic Cumberland (another Sainter) played until he was 43...
Michael Tuck and, as recently as 2002, Craig Bradley played at 38 years of age...
Harvey is still one of the fittest and best players in the League - but yes, it was of course an exaggeration, I was refering to Jason Grams recent (assumably not so serious) comment that Harvey has another five years in him and will play them.

He just re-signed for three years, so you can't have him :p
