Just thought I would start a thread about the tour. Things were looking good for the Aussies up until last night when McEwan, Rogers and O'Grady either crashed out or did not finish the stage in time. Evans rode well and is still well in contention for the over all honors. Rasmussen rode brilliantly last night and is the new wearer of the yellow jersey.
The highlights show for the tour is on every night at 6:00pm on SBS and all stages are live from about 10:30pm on SBS.

Yeah it was a sad night for the Aussies. Really feel sorry for Rogers. He was going so well.
The group Cadel was in last night was fairly stupid. They really could have almost put Kloden and Vino etc out of the race if they had of worked together, but they left Moreau to do all the work for himself.
Contador looked very strong after having to replace his tyre in the dying stages, and will probably get the job as Discovery's number 1 rider now, which is shit for me because I put money on Levi to win the thing, but he didnt show much last night after he had problems with his seat.

I completely agree with you about the Evans group they should have shared the workload and put some time between themeselves and Vino and co. Still there are many mountain stages to go and apparently the Alps are nothing compared to the Pyranees. Levi is still in with a shot as Contador is a relatively young bloke and may tire as the race goes on whereas Levi is a more seasoned rider. How freaky was Arroyo's crash? All you saw was the trees moving and the next thing he emerges from the shrubbery. I cannot beleive he was not injured.

Yeah thats the sad thing with Rogers. Arroyo does a double somersault with a pike and twist, whilst almost falling off one of the French alps, and can go on to ride a very nice stage, and still be in the tour. Whereas Rogers decides to hit the barrier instead of careering over the top and he's out of the tour. Tough luck story.

O'Grady looked in a pretty bad way when he was lifted in to the ambulance. Let's hope he makes a full recovery because he is such an awesome rider and a top bloke.

Love the mountain stages. That really sorts the men out from the boys. The flat ones I skip.

The tactics in the mountains are great to watch. Imagine the pain these blokes would be going thru in the 30 degree heat up massive mountains. Freaks!

Yeah. Was great last night with all the attacks. I'm a bit surprised Rasmussen didn't attack a bit more because he really could have broken up the field and drop guys like Leipheimer. Hopefully he does it in the Pyrenees.

Last night's stage was awesome. How about the last 1.5 Km? Must have been a gradient of like 10 degrees. Cadel rode very well and Rasmussen was put in a spot of bother, but was good enough to fight back. I think many of the top contendors are waiting for the Pyranees.

One of the funnier moments from this year's tour.

Twice in a row now the win will feel a bit hollow which is a shame. Great effort by Cadel but how about that time trial by Leipheimer ? Jesus. Seems like a good bloke to if the interview is anything to go by.

Evans is still in with a chance to win with Contador under investigation for drug cheating.
