Taking into consideration that the Under 23's lost to South Australia by 7 goals-a match in the past the VAFA would've won by 10 goals;a loss to the Queensland team in the Under 19s at Sportscover Arena; losing to Vic Country by 1 point (unlucky), is it fair to say the VAFA have lost the aura of invincibilty regarding state football. What does the VAFA have to do to regain the aura of invincibilty that made the VAFA the no.1 football competition outside the VFL? Is it time for the VAFA to put these two concepts into effect:North v South; or Section of Origin, to help players get ready for state or rep football?

The VAFA is now a competition where lots and lots of guys get to play good quality, clean footy with their mates, in a family friendly environment.
The standard of the competition at the top level has dropped slightly due to the weakening of the re-instatement rule which permits gun players to tip-toe off the the $uburban league$ to get a fair wad of ca$h, without being barred from returning when they finally decide to stop putting their hand out.
Accordingly, the elite rep sides don't have quite the same brilliance as they previously did. Not to say the players selected are not great players, it's just that the likes of Dan and Ben Jordan, Chubba Dineen, Joel Rice, Tim Harvey, etc. were easily lured away from the VAFA by coin.
No Section of Origin or North -v- South games are going to address this issue. The whole concept simply won't work. Please stop with this incessant posting of threads and polls on this issue.
