I am a Newcastle Knights fan but i believe the storm are the best team in the comp and should definitely win the flag this year and with such a young team should be a premiership contender for as long as the next 5 years.

Thats if they dont go seeking the big bucks elsewhere...

Big match this weekend vs your boys. Head to the match this Saturday at 7:30 at Olympic, guys!

Yeah, Melbourne are 2 games in front and with a points difference far better than Manly you can safely say the minor premiership is sewn up.

It's all great now, and we just demolished the Knights, but we were dominant last year and still couldn't win it.

Things look good though!

1999: Disappointing season end for Essendon
2000: Destroyed the competition

2006: Disappointing season end for Melbourne Storm
2007: Destroyed the competition

The boys should be feeling like Essendon did in 2000. The season begins when finals start.

Anything short of a premiership is a wasted year. No excuses. Not even bad refereeing.

I hope so r+b.

Things looking up for the Storm with increased crowds and record juniors in Victoria.

Hopefully the weather is alright in Melb this saturday so a big crowd can attend.

Apparently the rain will stay away until next week, the temperature increasing by the day up to maybe 15 for Saturday.

Should be nicer than Monday night.

It was 8 degrees or something for our Monday night game?

Shocking!

warney7

Yeah, something like that, so to get over 10k was still a good result I think.

But hopefully we'll see crowds closer to 15, although 13 seems to be our number.

Yeah mojon be patient. I'm agreeing with philhawk. Thurston is a gun. But I think Darren Lockyer would also be contending if it had not been for injury

He's only played, 1/2 the year, so the can't be close
Although he is a superstar

Hazem El Masri and Jamie Lyon would be contendors

Not a bad effort but I'd swap Cronk for Smith, Stewart for Lyon, possibly Bailey for Rogers and possibly Burt for Hayne.

Then again, I really haven't followed it all that closely.

I rate Willie. What he gives Canterbury is invaluable in my opinion. El Masri is good, and important to Canterbury, but doesn't hold the same importance as Mason.

El Masri can kick, run, tackle and dummy and bump. Mason can only run and tackle and bumb. El Masri is twice as important. Anyway, the question was about this year only El Masri as played tonnes better than Mason this year.

Darren Lockyer is probably the best player in the world and only got injured last week. With the storm best i forgot about Cameron Smith, Easily there best player. Whilst i reckon Luke Burt is more important than Jarrad Hayne just becasue he is fantastic goal kicker

Before Lockyer got injured he was one of there best players and each every weel would be the first player picked. There is no player in that side that is more important than there captain he steers them arounf the park more like a half back than a 5/8 and his field kicking is exceptional and his leadership is irreplacable
