Harvey to take over for this year at least.

Interesting. I was told by someone who is close friends with Bob Skilton and Paul Gardner, that Harvey would be Carlton coach IF Connolly was not sacked. So now Connolly is gone, I guess at the very least that means there's one less candidate on the Carlton short-list of coaches to replace Pagan. Maybe Freo heard the same rumour and decided to act swiftly.

I hope none of you are suggesting that we should be interested in his services at years end by posting this here

Make a good assistant however.

Will be interesting to see how Freo respond.

I wonder if Daniher hadn't been given the flick whether Connonly would have acted so soon.

I assume he couldn't apply for the advertised position at Melbourne while he was still head coach at Freo.

Good audtition for Harvey too. Can't really lose. If he wins a few games everyone will given him some credit. If he loses the rest they'll say he hasn't had much time to change anything.

Can Freo respond with shame at having cost their coach his job and all of a sudden pull out a win against the odds vs Crows.

(and besides my tips are so far down i have nothing to lose!)

I doubt that he will be coach at Carlton next year, but he should be interviewed at the very least.

Follow Connolly's lead Denis and resign gracefully.

With a year left on his contract, wouldn't Denis forfeit his 2008 salary if he resigned??

Must admit I am not a fan of Harvey for coaching the Blues.......prefer Voss or McKenna or Bond.

Interesting thought - would we go after Laidley if he does not sign a new contract with the Roos ???

After Pagan, I'm inclined to steer away from anyone associated with the North Melbourne football club!

minimal chance of Connolly coaching us.

I would say buckleys chance of Connolly coaching us...

And to be honest, I think that the board sat down with him and told him that Pav wouldnt re-sign for the club so long as he was coach... so he had the choice of taking one for the team and resigning or being fired.

That is if Pav is going to re-sign now...

I was under the impression that Pavlich and Connolly were close and Pav wanted him to stay.

Maybe I got my wires crossed...... again :o
