View Full Version : Buckley can't possibly be suspended

I heard Eddie say after the game that even if Buckley is called up to answer the charge, Eddie & Channel 9 have footage that will 100% clear him.

Thank god for that too. We don't want a player like Wynd, Woewodin or Brad Hardie win the Brownlow just because all the good players were suspended.

You clinge on to that.

You do not know, until the fat lady sings.

There are no certainties in the world of the Tribunals. Wish you luck Monday and Tuesday nights,

And given that your profile indicates you were 10yo when Scott Wynd won and 3yo when Brad Hardie won, I'm guessing that you didn't actually see many of their games in their Brownlow years. But, hey, why let historical ignorance get in the way of bagging players who had outstanding years?

ooooooooo touchy one aren't we? Both them players, as well as Woewodin, are the reason why Sheedy & others want the award criteria changed.

And good to see you telling people what they can & can't comment on. It's a shame that only people that are over 50 can comment on the Doggies one & only flag.

That's funny, I don't recall Sheedy mentioning any of those three. But, hey, don't let mere facts (or grammar) get in the way of your bagging of them either.

Give the graphic animators three days and they can do almost anything - Channel Eddie's version of "Final Fantasy"! (Maybe that should be "Finals Fantasy")

Buckley is gone, no doubt about it !!

Striking - 2 weeks
Being a Collingwood player - mandatory 4 weeks
Being their captain - 1 week
Wearing a mullet in your early days - 3 weeks
Being Eddies love child - 1 week
Leaving Brisbane so you can supposedly play in a premiership team - 5 weeks
Telling Milne he will get two weeks for his slapping - 3 weeks
Having the knickname 'figjam' - 4 weeks
Having a father who counts your Brownlow votes - 3 weeks
Taking a dirty cheap strumpet with her bog catchers showing to the Brownlow - 7 weeks
For being an out & out tosser - 10 weeks

So that means see ya in a couple of years buddy !!

And that Steven Milne deserves life for hitting him with those little girlie slaps too, should have given him a fair dinkum forearm jolt or a piledriver !!!

Not a big fan of Buckley (but he has improved team wise), or Collingwood, and would prefer he didn't win the brownlow because this town would not be big enough for that ego.

But if he gets suspended they might as well say you are not allowed to spoil a guy going for the mark, he wasn't late and he clearly attempted to go for the ball, so I hope he gets off. Yes he did get him high on the follow through but thats footy. There was never an attempt to take out the player in his action.

I also think the umpire was right in reporting him if he thought contact was deliberate at the time. Hopefully he will review it now and drop it.

otherwise we get the chance for the tribunal to make a real decision and determine where this game is going in regards to incidental physical contact. i hope they can do the right thing.

If Buckley believes that Milne will get 2 weeks for slapping, then I think he can expect a suspension for his striking charge.

I think Eddie is begginning to cross the line between being a commentator and being president of a football club. The game had only just finished but already he's rushing to the defense of his captain.

Not really, Milne's was blantant that it was deliberate but I honestly don't think he will be cited for that anyway, just a bit of fun! Bluckley's is touch and go, a tough call. If anything he will get suspended for being reckless for one week. Nothing more because he didn't make contact to Thompson's head with his fist and he did have his eyes for the ball.

Isn't that what Presidents are for??????????? :D

I hope that he doesn't get done because I backed 5 players at the start of the year to win the brownlow and with Hird now out I'm laughing the five were

Michael Voss
Simon Black
Nathan Buckley
Ben Cousins
Brett Ratten

With Akermanis, McLoed ineligable Hird now going to miss 8 I've got to have a good show.
