View Full Version : Brian Wilson Concert........Wish List
Okies well in the wake of the life-changing news that Brian Wilson might be coming to this great country of ours at the end of the year, I am compiling my wish list for songs I would love to hear. Feel free to add suggestions!!!!!
Essentials:
*The Little Girl I Once Knew
*Surfer Girl
*This Whole World
*Don't Worry Baby
*Love and Mercy
*Lay Down Burden
*In My Room
*Be My Baby
*California Girls
Requests: (fan choices)
*Keep An Eye On Summer
*I Just Wasn't Made For These Times
*Let Him Run Wild
*South American
*The Surfer Moon
*Wouldn't It Be Nice

*The Night Was So Young
*Hang On To Your Ego
Wishes: (songs we would kill to hear but have no hope)
*Surf's Up
*Heroes and Villains
*Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder)...(I doubt Brian still has the vocal range to pull this one off, sadly :()
Discards: (songs that should be dropped from the set)
*All Summer Long
*God Only Knows (no one but Carl can do the song justice)
*Good Vibrations

I love it too. Song of the century after all. :D But yeah, the reason I put it on the discard list is because Brian's live versions of the song haven't impressed. For me, it's one Carl's gotta sing.

Gotta stand corrected on all three of these, after seeing that they are all included in Brian's current England tour set. :D
In other tour news, apparently Brian himself has said he's touring here this year, so there you have it. :D

I thought Good Vibrations was his best song at the Queen's Jubilee Concert.

I don't know, I found 'The Warmth Of The Sun' to be his best, I guess because he actually sang lead on the original, on the other three songs, the original leads were other people. He does 'Good Vibrations' well, I just reckon he doesn't need to. It's really Carl's song to sing.

Add 'I Was Made to Love Her.'
I wouldn't discard 'Good Vibrations.' I always found it annoying because they sold it to Sunkist, and Sunkist used it to sell a billion liters of orange soda-pop.
However (recently ;) ) I heard some live rehearsal of it. Loved the bass and keyboard interaction. I also like the way they pedal-tone the A note for the "vibration." I'd never noticed that before. I can't imagine they wouldn't play it. I'd like to hear it live. Once again Lioness, if I was there - I'd buy you a beer. Peace,

Yeah I guess I'd also like to hear 'Good Vibrations' live, just because it's one of their most important songs. :) But I can tell you that 'I Was Made To Love Her' won't be added, Brian definitely doesn't have the vocal range to pull it off, besides it was Carl's song.
Hey Mooster maybe if Brian comes your way you'll have to go along and see him. ;)

What the hell for?? Sorry I didn't put any smilies in, but most people know this is a joke. I've had fun messing around with Lioness's love for this guy before and she didn't seem to mind.
We even had a thread asking who you'd use 'one bullet' on if you had the chance. How is this any different?

I will if they do come to KC, or St Louis, or Omaha or Topeka etc. However, unlike you, it won't be because I think Brian Wilson is sexy. ;) :D

What I'd like to hear Brian Wilson say when he comes to Australia.....
Brian admitting that the Beach Boy's artistic highpoint wasn't 'Pet Sounds', but their duet with Annette Funicello on 'The Monkey's Uncle'
Brian admitting that The Monkees was the creative inspiration for 'Good Vibrations'
Thanking that man of integrity, Dr. Eugene Landy, for helping him regain his fitness and win the 1982 Brownlow

:o Next thing you'll want him admitting Mike Love DID actually deserve songwriting credits on all the songs that he didn't have a thing to do with. :o
Oh and Landy is no longer a 'doctor'. :D

They keep sitting him behind that damn keyboard which the world knows he doesn't even play during the shows.
One thing you guys all have to remember is that Brian is the equivalent of a performing bear. Anyone who knows the history knows he is quite mentally ill, he DOES wanna play shows don't get me wrong, but he is kinda just put up there in a certain spot, not to move......

HAHAHAHAHA you think the shows are mimed???? I can't say too much here but rest assured your comment will make it's way back to Brian.
The only sound that comes from that keyboard is the opening bars of California Girls, and I for one would pay whatever I had to for that experience. :D

If four notes on a piano is all you hear in that song, I feel very sorry for you. :)
