If you bounce the ball while you are being tackled, it's HTB.

If you bounce the ball and are then tackled shortly after, it's HTB.

If you bounce the ball badly, and it gets away from you, and you are tackled, is it still HTB?

I hate how you are penalised for bouncing the ball, but then getting tackled whilst the ball is on the way back up.

Bouncing the ball whilst being tackled is stupid and should be penalised, but the other way is ugh.

Why? If you bounce(or attempt to) you've had prior opportunity. Gawn

i think it works on

if you are in control of the ball

and then you get tackled after having prior oppurtunity to dispose of it

then you are holding the ball

unless you are playing essendon.

cheers

Yes. If you bounce the ball, you're deemed to be in possession of the ball, therefore, it's not possible to attempt to kick or handball.

What constitutes a tackle anyway because I remember a melbourne player one game bouncing the ball and was touched on the back then kept going but the ump called it holding the ball. Do you still have to lay a proper tackle or can you just be touched.

Horrible decision.

You definitely have to hold the player correctly. If a player lets go of the tackle as the ball is being disposed, it should be called "play on"
