I think our position on the ladder now correctly reflects where we sit in this competition. we won a few great matches earlier this year that had us ahead of ourselves, but i beleive that this has been corrected.
i dont see it getting better for us in a hurry. i think its time to start blooding some youngsters in the next few years and building for the future. we have a solid base to work on, but its a few more years of heartache before we will be on top again.

Yeah, I predicted we would finish 10-12 in the preseason, so we are about where, in reality, most people thought we would be.
Being 10th reflects our lack of quality depth. We can't even cover Winderlich.
Talent wise and obviously with our best players in the side, we can beat anyone.
I think we need 2 to 3 years of good recruiting and good list management to get somewhere.
Having said that, we've become twice as good as we were in the space of a year.

We are a club divided. Harvey coaches his first victory, Essendon loses to Collingwood. We'll be extinct within fifty years.

I think we'll end up with 10 wins and at the moment I'm not expecting us to do any better next year.
I predicted we would have between 9 and 11 wins and i have to say after being 7-5 at the half way i am pretty annoyed that we look like ending up where i predicted.

Not suprised in the slightest at where we`re at. We were always going to improve on last year which was not going to be bloody hard. I`ve heard sheedy mention this point 4 times now always along the lines of " Well we`ve improved a hell of alot from last year"
Kevin, oh stubborn one, I know you want to keep coaching but come up with a few better lines than that one squire.
we finished on the same amount of points as carlton last year. how are they going???
it was always going to be alot to ask to go from 15th to the finals
another year of improvement next year and we make the 8. winning premierships takes time. we have had a very good last 27 years, we can't be up there every year
I was laughed at earlier in the year when I said we'll finish 10th at best. Not really a bad thing considering how shite we were last year.

Well he has had blokes around him for the last 10 years telling him how good he is. Do you expect anything else, or less?

Ant is there any chance there will be another debut from anyone this season????

That will depend on when we are out of the finals race and injuries.
I would think that Gumby and Lonergan should get a run at some stage this year and we should see Jetta, Houli and Dempsey back at some stage also

And the reasons we are where we should be is because the following players have let us down this year:
Dyson, JJ, Heff, Bolton, Cole, Laycock, Monfries.

I Dont Mind This i mean the last time we were in this position (1998) got to the prelim the next year (1999) and won the premiership the following year (2000) History as a way of repeating itself, so im happy to wait another few years:thumbsu:

History does have a habit of repeating its self but as soon as you start hoping it does, it doesn't.
I don't want the players to think "we are where we should be".
