ash hansen is our most important player by far imo, as we won every game last year that hansen played and most of the games hansen played this year need i say more.

Our forwardline just seems to operate better when he's on the field even if he doesn't get a lot of the ball.

He is probably not in the best 10 or 12 players in our side based solely on ability, but structurally probably only Glass and Cox are more important.

As ***kin awesome as Benny's display was tonight, your right!
He gives us so much more confidence going forward...straightens us up too!
He is very very important to this team! Just look at our record with/without Hansen...

Something like 21/23 with and 10/20 without in the last 2 1/2 years...

Just so important to WC its ridiculous.

Very clean hands, should have kicked a little straighter though.

Hopefully a bag is on the way.

Even 2 years ago he was our most important player. He straightens us up alot. However, what makes him more important today is that he is starting to kick alot more goals than he used to. He has become alot more agile and has improved his upper body strength alot and as a result he is not getting pushed under the ball by stronger bodied defenders like he used to. Hes 24 and should be starting to enter his prime over then next few years. Hes still a very underrated player.

You cannot underestimate how important he is to us. He's not quite Riewoldt, will never be a monster like Brown, and isn't as athletic as Pavlich, but he's got a little bit of all of their qualities and is just so, so important to our side.

Easily the best CHF we've ever had. I'm looking forward to the big guy playing a full season.

Easily the best CHF we've ever had.

I think Mitchell White and even Ross Glendinning would have something to say about that.

Yes he is our best CHF we have had, and he is OUR best forward by a good length. The UNIT for some stupid reason hasn't had the same impact this season, been very inaccurate and hasn't stepped up in games were we really needed him.

Hansen is a great goal-kicking forward, I just prey he doesn't get injured again this season.

My thoughts on why he is so important: Simply he gives us an avenue to the forward line through the corridor which is usually our weakness. Without him Running through there we are generally forced to go wide because of our lack of marking/leading prowess (other than maybe lynch).

Ash is a hell of a mark and can run and lead well. So whenever we get the ball through the midfield we go to him. He's also a pretty good delivery into the forward 50, compared to several others. When ash does not play we try to go through the corridor occasionally but often have the ball turned over and rebounded twice as fast. Therefore having him there helps us out a f*ck load.

I think he does the position well. Enjoy watching Hansen play though i dont often see the man take a mark in the corridoor. If you watch him hes actually marking it on the wings 75 % of thetime

That's a tough place to kick 4 goals from ;)

That Hansen is our most important CHF WC have ever had.

At the end of his career at WC we will all think that Im sure. :thumbsu:

Win/Loss ratio when he is playing clearly shows he is our most important player. If he went to Carlton, for example, he wouldn't be their most important player, but he's so important to our structure.

If Judd, Cousins or Kerr got injured we've got others who can pick up the slack, with Hansen no-one within our squad can replace him. He works hard, and creates a target. Then the rest of the forward line is much more open, can function better and provide more opportunities to Lynch.

Of course I was a fan of Glendinning and White as well, but I reckon for the Eagles that Hansen is better. Glendinning was in his prime at North, but not as good when he was at the Eagles and a lot of his time was closer to goal. White did a great job for a year and half or so, but he was never a genuine CHF. His agility was superb, but he never had the same presence as Hansen.
