15 rounds in and we are averaging c. 41,400 a game in 16th. We are the best supported spoon side in history. More than Carlton - way more - got in their recent spoon years and more than the magpies got in 1999.

Oh and we are supposed to be the bandwagon team!!!! Far from being bandwagon we actually probably have the biggest as well as the loudest core matchgoing fanbase in Melbourne. Give the Pies or Bombers our season and their crowds would be no bigger and would be quieter.

I pointed out on the main board that our current spoon certs are outdrawing the 1999 magpie spoonists. Simple statement of fact as any neutral can see.

De Lica the magpie who is an OK bloke comes on and says words to the effect of " hold on there but you are including marquee games aginst the big 4 so your average is inflated"

Imagine it. A Pie telling anyone else that marquee games inflate average attendance and should be discounted!!!! Err... 2 guaranted games against Carlton, 2 against essendon including a public holiday, a public holiday against melbourne... Is that bizarre or what?

Of course I checked 1999 and discounting their big 4 games as well as ours this year the gap actually widens in our favour.

Just proves what all AFL people have always known, Collingwood supporters are wankers. They think they are better than other Vic sides while they always travel less get more games in Vic and always get the special big games, and split rounds. They are just plain idiots.:eek:

Richmond are like a car crash we see during peak hour. We know it is a mess, we know people are hurting but we can't help ourselves, we just have see it for ourselves. That is why the opposition come and watch when they play us, they know we're in a bad way bit they have to see it with their own eyes to believe it.

It is actualy magnetically attractive in its woefulness.

I sometimes wonder what, if any, other teams in other sports squander such huge potential. Arguably the Rabbitohs in League have a similar sleeping giant quality but League clubs are tiny outfits with no more than 10,000 fans. In baseball I think the Chicago Cubs are similar. Huge support, Big city team, Fanatical fans but no success. In Bball its a while since the celtics did anything.

There are few major pro sport teams with such potential as we have within our league which are so lamentably useless at tapping that potential.

And the funny thing is that when Pies were last in 1999 and Blues last in recent years, both teams were still regular finals teams during the decade before those spoons. While we have only made the finals twice in 26 years :cool:
