Now we see how the tide has turned :
Lexton Plains FL - Rokewood-Corindhap 34.19.223 def Avoca 0.2.2.
Avoca would be the most populous town in the league, too! They won a flag as recently as, I think, 1996. In fact, I think it may have been a hattrick from 1996-98. What the hell has gone wrong there? Maybe they've assumed a new, clean style of play. Maybe Gumtree has finally retired. Maybe Matt Jess has headed off somewhere more rewarding than the contrived new LPFL.
Ararat Eagles are in at least as much trouble, Skipton 38.23.251 def Ararat Eagles 1.1.7. They're a little worse than last year, although it must be said that Skipton (the Emus) were last years premiers.
You know how people often whinge about a lowly team in a league, reckon "Hey, throw them out, then the league would be more even."
Well THIS WAS THE SAME LEAGUE THAT HAD LANDSBOROUGH IN IT LAST YEAR.
Talk about haves and have nots. A great merger of leagues decision, VCFL. :rolleyes:
