My mate and I were sitting amongst the faithful today and started discussing who in the team deserves to have the number 17 on their back. Unfortunately the only one we saw with skill, endeavor and heart today was our first year player Edwards. He often beat more than one opponent and showed real leadership qualities. Give credit where credit is due. He was a great pick up at 25. I wish some of his more esteemed colleagues could follow his example.

Our next captain is next year (hopefully). A second year player will not get captaincy. End of story.

He could be captain material in the future though, for sure. But how many players have we said that for.

Brett Deledio or Nathan Foley will be in line for the captaincy in a couple years.

If we were to change captains at years end i would think that maybe Bowden, Brown or even perhaps Coughlan could be a chance.

I know Cogs has missed a year and a half but he is an important member of our side and demands respect amongst the playing group with his work ethic in the gym and around the club.

Personally i'd like Big Richo to captain the club but i dont think they would give it to a guy with only a couple years left.
Thats also the main reason that i think Cogs could be our next captain.
He will be around for many more years yet so any-one that doesn't like it well......tough titties!!!!!!!!!! GO COGS! ;)

edwards has improved a bit and starting to earn a bit of possession, usually he just gets most of his possesion through the uncntested mark. he is too easily knocked off the ball and dont have blind pace to chase and tackle.

I'm a believer that your captain should be an on-baller. So, Deledio/Foley/Cogs

improving at a rate of knots, is now sensing the pace of the game and sizing up his options within a blink rather than go for 10yard dash every time he touched the leather...i like the boy:thumbsu:

deliberate!!

You shouldn't drink so much beer at the footy.
I bet that fat chick 2 rows down also looked sexy to you by the end of the game!!

(closest thing to 'beer goggles' we've got)

We should just make it Deledio and stop f****** around, some older players at the club may not like, but if so they can leave if they want.
