Please be advised that the West Adelaide Football Club has informed current senior coach Wayne Weidemann that the club will not be offering him a new contract to coach the club in season 2008.

The decision, made by the clubs Board at its monthly Board Meeting, has been made at this stage of the season to ensure that the club can begin the detailed process of appointing a successor to Wayne for next season. This process will involve a subcommittee with individuals from both within and external to the club. Details of this subcommittee will be announced in the coming weeks.

Wayne, with the full support of the club, will fulfill the remainder of his contract and continue to coach the team until the end of the season. Both the club and Wayne believe that there are still opportunities for improvement and success for the final seven rounds and look to the playing group to support Wayne and the club to achieve this.

The club would also like to thank Wayne for his tireless work over the past two seasons as the senior coach, along with the previous two seasons as assistant league and reserves coach.

Agreed.

And another "woeful" ABC commentator this year has been Robert Pyman. Looks like he is heading down the same path.
