Take heart in the fact that there is still a long way to go this year.
Granted it will take 10 weeks or so (and no more injuries) for us to start firing again.
I still believe we'll make the finals, but probably not too much more unfortunately...

My prediction of 3rd looks shady now. Will finish 5th if lucky. Put it this way, at least we won't have to line up for grand final tickets. :)

I almost went back to the paper bag, but I thought this one was more appropriate.
We're bruised, we're battered, but we're still Essendon. We have Carlton and St. Kilda the next two weeks; neither one of them is exactly on fire at the moment.
I think 14-8 or 15-7 is still possible, and that would probably be good enough for top four.

hate to say it but i just get the feeling we are going to have a 97-98 type of season this year. Should have come out firing against Freo after the Collingwood loss. Bad signs.

I don't get it ...I saw with my own eyes incredibly pathetic play (dropping balls, turning over every two minutes, slipping over etc) by both the Pies and esp Freo and then after a great skills display in the Crows game...the Bombers turn over to both of them ?

Most of our injured players will be back well before the finals and with players like Fletcher, Misiti, Barnard, the Johnson's Alessio etc. We aren't dead in the water yet.
