Thought this is a fitting thread in light of whats transpired over the last 12 hours. I know its been an indifferent day for all of us with this landmark decision, so lets warm up and laugh while compiling your favourite KS moment or comment.

Ill get things started with his hand gestures to the Eagles huddle and his translation when asked about it...something about the Dome being his church and we being all his people. A little scratchy albeit. Cant wait to read your contributions.

MEMO TO MODERATORS : Lets keep this thread for what it should be and delete any trolls while we reflect.

I have to admit that I am "STUNNED" that the king is gone from coaching you guys.

If we get him I think that can only increase the rivalry between us and the trash (i'm sure you know who I mean).

......GEEZ I still can't believe it happened

Who was it he described as 'just one of those people that hangs around sport'? W. Jackson or Andy D?

There was a story about us playing against Sydney and he sent a message to the bench "Get f***ing O'Connor off the ground"

O'Connor was playing for Sydney at the time, when he was told that, his response was "Well f***ing get him off anyway"

I can remember approaching him at a function here in Adelaide with a question about Matthew Banks. Even with a fan, away from any media he was a master of deflection!!! He gave me a long answer that had nothing to do with the original question and had me totally confused!!! :):D

Announcing to all that would listen that hawfforn were sniffing strange substances (alluding to drugs) at 3/4 time breaks during the `84 finals series. The best bit was hawfforn saying " ahhh we`ll use this thanks for the ammunition sheedy" yeah, yeah, sure `awks

calling danny jacobs "the last of the mohicans"

I think he also referred to Steve Alessio as the last of the mohicans (referring to Sess being able to rock up at Essendon training one day and then finding his way on the list)

The Mitchell White throat slitting incident springs to mind

His constant referrals to Aaron Henneman when trying to scare other clubs about what Essendon has waiting in the wings

I think accusing the Hawks of illegal activities (when they were using smelling salts) was something they still hate us for

Even at the press conference yesterday when he said he'll get on the board and sack Jackson.

great thread :) what a 24 hours, I'm still shattered...

Longy, you've put it perfectly, Sheedy was Sheedy up until the end, and there'll never be another.

That press conference was pure class

While this wasn't exactly funny, it sent shivers down my spine. In response to his greatest achievement in football - well, just the way he built up the situation - "that man sitting right there - Adam Ramanauskas - football story of the year"

I barracked for him as Essendon Coach until Power joined the AFL, I still admire him as leader of my "second fav team". I know him thro' the International Cup 2005 and I beg the AFL to give him a VERY BIG, very HIGH PROFILE position in Aussie Rules AFL development . . . .
Kevin Sheedy to Potchestroom and Cape Town . . . Yeah, yeah, Yeah
(for at 6 months per annum) . . .
