With Richard Cole going onto the long term injury list with his ankle. I think that him and Heath Hocking are very similar except Hocking has better disposal than Cole and his game against the Northern Bullants was fantastic a few weeks ago.
hard at the ball and burst through the packs. that what we need
just like to know everyones thoughts

I am not a fan of Heath Hocking, although he has been in good form for the reserves, he is a similar player to pev in that he gets a lot sof the ball but just can't kick. Add to that the fact that we can not promote him as nno one can promote any longer this season.

Would it make you happy if we swapped the Bendigo Bombers team with the Essendon team ?

You can promote up until Round 18, providing there is a spot.
We don't have a spot.
Hocking has much better foot skills than Pev.

Absolutely should be in - as I keep saying, could be another Chapman. Play him as a small/mid forward......also like the O'keefe role
We cant promote anyone from the rookie list as its pass the cut off point
I've heard that that might not be the case ... stay tuned!

I just dont know how someone could have watched him play and say he just cant kick. Seriously he has a kicking eff of 84% this year so make of that what you will.
He hasnt got the silky skills of a Jarman but he is a very nice kick of the footy. Very rarely does he turn it over by kicking it to the opositon. If he has one kicking fault it is his kicks can drop short of a target.
I have to say i have seen him spot up targets in the forward line from 40 meters away and hit them on the chest numerous times this year.

You're spot on.
We'll have two spots for rookies open up very shortly.

Well as you'd know it's now been confirmed with Hislop and Cole on the LTI list.
Would love to see Hocking get a crack now.
Cool we can now give Hocking a chance.

And from what i have heard both boys may be a chance for senior selection at some stage if their form holds up.

What i meant was to Re-draft him in the rookie draft.

Hocking and Dick in line for promotion? Or Chartres?

You can't! He is no longer considered a "rookie" once he has spent 2 years ona club's rookie list.
Its draft him in the "National" or "Pre-Season" drafts ... or bust (VFL, SANFL, WAFL etc)

You can be re-rookied once you've spent two years on a rookie list.
As long as you fulfill the age requirement.
He just has to go through the draft.

Maybe im not such a dumbass afterall.
For those who say he cant kick i am interested to hear exactly what they think the fault is with his kicking. Now i know it isnt becasue he kicks it to the opposition as he rarely does it. Would like to here what it is you think is no good for example does he kick it too high, too short etc.
One exersize i do when looking at young players is when i write down faults i think i can see after watching them a few times i watch a replay of an non Essendon game ( I find it easier without the Bombers playing to watch the skills of both sides closely rather than the game itself) and just compare how many times you see these faults in an AFL game. You will be surprised how many times something you percieve as a fault in a young player actually comes up regulary at senior level as well.

Ant....
I don't think he puts it to the players advantage well enough.
At VFL level he can get away with that but they'll always chop it off or get a fist too it at AFL level.
The more I watched him yesterday the more I was convinced he can't play AFL.

He is innacurate and drops the ball quite strangley. those are his biggest flaws when it comes to kicking

Well we will see. I dont rate him as a sure thing at all. If he does make it he isnt going to be a star but more a hard working player.
The one thing i know about him is his disposal is not as bad as you say. His stats over the season say he isnt. Kicks at 84% efficency and has lead the midfielders in scoring assists from the inside 50's.
What he does do at times is kick them short of the player he is looking for.
He can rush his handball and miss targets or put his teamates under pressure.
His has a question mark on his pace.
What he doesnt do is turn it over.
His disposal is just as good as Hislop , Houli , Lonergan and Reimers.
His tackling is better than any of the other young midfielders.
He will actually block and sheppherd.
He can also tag someone and keep them out of the game while getting his own footy. In the first half yesterday he player on Summers and kept him to 6 disposlas. In the second half Summers had 26 disposals and kicked 2 goals when pitted against Houli , Reimers and JJ.
He can run all day and doesnt need the rotations that some of our other mids need.
He is still a bit of a long shot but the bad parts of his game are things that can be worked on.

Well done he is innacurate , very in depth description.

Can he still be elevated? Has anyone else been placed on the LTI to make a spot available for him?

I thought you could only be placed on the LTI list up to round 15.
I thought you could only be placed on the LTI list up to round 15.
New rules this year , the cut off for the LTI list is now round 18 or 8 weeks before the GF.
From what i have heard around the traps Hocking is a chance to get a game.
