at least for 08 anyway...:thumbsu::):thumbsu:

Who will make it from the mighty hawks on current form?

Buddy
Hodgey
Mitchell
Brown
Sewell
------------------
Crawf?
Cambell?
Gilham?
Croad?
Bateman?

There are quite a few who would be on the brink of selection, youd think.

Thoughts?

YAWN ......... Hodge, Buddy, Mitch etc should just get on with pre season and not worry themselves with being hurt in meaningless matches. The last big match was back in 89 at the G, since then it's been a flop in terms of popularity.

Fair enough.

Demitriou wants a record breaking crowd at the G, so he tends to disagree, and I do too.

AFL cEO Andrew Demetriou wants footy fans to set a new crowd record for State of Origin should the concept be reintroduced in 2008.

and

Demetriou said five of 16 clubs had not supported the return of State of Origin football, but the other 11 wanted it back either as a one-off or once every two or four years.

Definitely not meaningless.

Sorry, I just can't help remembering Andy Collins crashing into the back of Tony Hall's knee. Career over.

I hope none of our guys come into consideration.

not interested.
Would be a complete charade, much like the Legends game which fails to draw a crowd year after year.
Kennett is right. Scrap the pre-season and let's play a fair fixture of 30 rounds and get rid of the meaningless games.

If you want a State of Origin, use it to boost the 2nd tear VFL level sides and give an interstate clash a bit of publicity.

State of Origin is a total waste of time. Someone wins, someone loses, life goes on .. big deal.

Yes, I was there that day .. barracking for the South Aussies of course :)

I recall when Hall went down, we all knew it wasn't good. As he was sitting there clutching his knee in agony, and the stretcher was on its way out onto the ground, a moron behind me stood up and screamed out that Hall was a big girl and he should walk off, not be carried off.

It takes all kinds to make a footy crowd.

There gunna introduce it because its gunna give the new guns the prestige of representing your state like they do in rugby. We cant let rugby get this to them selves and we need our top gun guys like Budy and Ruffy Hodge Mitch Thorp getting there right to getting there stage jumper. Im worried as well like Jeff because that cheat Demetruio in now reintroduce it when we are at the top be never intorduce it when he was rigging it for Port and Brisbane ans Syndey to win so there players didnt have to played and injured. But hes introduce it now so were gunna have all our palayers play and get injured like we got Tony Hall injured. Demetruios just gotta go.

A terrible idea, keep our player's out of it.

We've got flags to win.

Hopefully most clubs will withhold their best players and that will be the end of this obsolete SOO rubbish once and for all.

As much as I would like to see these all star sides, I think the game has moved on. The professionalism, money and team management has moved on significantly, too much to allow decent SOO teams.
