As much as I hate Carlton, I would have their injured players in my side any day compared to the StKilda walking wounded.

Camporeale Hickmott and Koutifides are stars... the likes of Burke Loewe and Jones would not add anything to the StKilda side id they were fit

I hope the Blues get the wooden spoon but realistically I cannot see the Saints wiining again this year

cough Not add anything cough

Burke, the in and under, the tackler
Loewe, 6'5" the target, takes the best defender, brings ball to ground, straightens the team up.
Jones, the deliverer, quickest player and best deliverer in the team, designated kicker from FB.

Then there's Gehrig, 6'5" & quick, takes the number 1 forward, B&F runner up, played one game and received BOG
Everitt, 6'7" great tap ruckman and goalkicker. B&F
Koschitztke, 6'6" Handy 3rd backmen or forward
Harvey is Robert Harvey, 2 games beat Bell and Ratten
Brett Moyle, not known to other teams but rushed into side last year after 7 weeks off with broken leg, good linkman.

Then there are the 2nd tier players, Peckett, Blake, Cripps etc

I don't think the flood would be used as much if all that marking power was in.

The most important thing is the changes to the other players with these in the side. Hamill goes to 2nd or 3rd best defender rather than best, Hudghton gets 2nd or 3rd forward instead of best,
Players like Riewoldt becomes a roving 6'4" marking power rather than playing on 20 kg heavier Rocca types. Everitt/Harvey means we win 50% + centre clearance rather than <40% with Knobel/Thompson. Aussie hits targets rather than the target Riewoldt kicking out etc etc
and we have a draft pick considered superior to Judd not yet playing, is a chance come July, August.

I don't think the Saints are as bad as they look with all bar Everitt hopefully back within 4 weeks

I agree that they(the team) are not as bad as they look, however the facts are that the performances have been poor.

I think the phrases " in the future" or "next year" have been overdone, and injuries as an excuse the same.

Young players such as Ball,Clarke,DalSanto,Houlighan,Maguire,Montagna,Riewoldt,Kos chi and Beetham give an optomistic outlook to the future, but the players that should be giving a backbone to the side aren't standing up! Its as simple as that!

Those Saints fans who think Loewe Burke and Jones have any future in league footy are delusional.

Gehrig Harvey and to a lesser extent Everitt are terribly injury prone and good for less than half a season

Peckitt and Cripps are nothing but trade bait

Incisive and thoughtful reply Luke.

With brains like yours perhaps there is room for you on the match committee

Don't you think it would be wiser to wait until the end of July before casting aspersions on other clubs?
Things have a habit of coming back and biting you.

to the st. Kilda fans the problem is having 1st teir players its having 3rd & 4th teir players in the team.

While you get a better list get a better coach. Someone who has no history with the club but has doen his apprenticeship in the lower grades.

I'm sure at the end of the season the club will be looking at replacements for the likes of Loewe,Peckett,Capuano,Plapp,Voss,Wulf and Davis.

However if the injured players such as Harves,Spider and Gehring come in , I can see a few more wins this year.
