View Full Version : Bay 115/116 - Showdown XXIII - Attendance Thread
No tickets available - From David C. at the Club below
'Bay 114 will actually be back in the members for the Showdown (basically because the League expects a high percentage of Cat 1 members to turn up for this game).
My suggestion is to congregate at the back of bay 115/116.
We need you all this week.'
Could everyone who is going to the game post and advise how many with and if you will be available for the Bay/s.
I suggest we use bay 115/116 as mentioned by the club. Let's see what numbers we can get first before choosing a BAY though.

I still reckon having some identifiably similar item of clothing will leave other members of the crowd intrigued. Obviously you're not going to get everyone joining in right away, but if you can gradually build a presence, it will really go a long way.
And no, I don't mean shirts that say 'Harden the **** up', coz really, it has no relevance to anything AFC.
Someone with decent humour should write some material too, instead of the old cheersquad 'Lets go adelaide, lets go'. No one gives a **** about that.
All in good time. :thumbsu:
You coming CC?
I will be there.
Thats 5 :thumbsu:
Where is Gets!? NikkiNoo? Matty? Stazza? Southerntakeover?
Pete will be coming. I know that. Last I spoke to Kitch he was arriving back in Australia the day before the Showdown, so I'm sure he'll be there too.

For the showdown I think you guys should try and get more crowd participation. Try get mexican waves going and chants and stuff. The crowd will love you for it.
Just a suggestion, perhaps try the bays where the majority is Crows supporters, not much point being near a whole bunch of port supporters.

Good idea however we would only be one bay over from BAY 114 and it is a Crows Home game so majority would be Crows supporters around us. Might be good to get the crowd near the opposition CS fired up. :thumbsu:
Call for Crows supporters
12:47 PM Tue 31 July, 2007
for afc.com.au
The quick sell-out of Saturday night’s Showdown has led to renewed calls for fans to use their tickets.
Crows commercial operations general manager Phil Harper says it is important Adelaide fans attend the AAMI Stadium clash to get behind their team as it fights for a finals spot.
“This is a huge game for the club so if you can’t use your ticket, please lend it to someone else or try our new ticket exchange program,” Harper said.
“We think this Showdown deserves a crowd of 45,000 plus. After the Port members bought 800 tickets in two days last week, the remaining 3000 tickets sold out in about 24 hours.
“We could have sold thousands more tickets so there are obviously still plenty of people out there who would love to come to the match if they can get a ticket.
“When a team is struggling, that’s when we really need our supporters to fill the stadium and make some noise.
“But if you can’t come, please try our simple exchange system and give someone else a chance to see the Showdown.”
Bring it on. :thumbsu::D

When a team is struggling, that’s when we really need our supporters to fill the stadium and make some noise. I'm gonna repeat that again, because I agree very strongly.
I want us to be supporting our team vocally, till the end, winning or losing, 10 goals up or 10 goals down.
Are we not there to support our team? Or do we only sing when we are winning?

Looking forward to hearing you on the TV again guys!

I have only ever been involved in one mexican wave. That was against Freo in the QF last year...they started it. haha
I am sure I have been in more but must have been a while ago.

Hi KE,
The youngest cockroach and I won't be going to the game this week. I'm more than happy to pass on my ticket (adult) and hers (squadron one) through the ticket exchange program if if you'd like them.

Do I just make my way to the Crows shed as normal?
Have we all agreed we do this in bay 115/116. This keeps it simple. If so then just show up to the bay as early as possible otherwise others might take up all the space in the standing area.
I will not be able to make it to the shed before for drinks as I will be in the Lakes Hotel carpark. As there will be 3 cars we park there. It costs $10.00 per car but then you get a $10.00 voucher each car to spend at the bottleshop convieniently located in the carpark. :D So if you plan on drinking, parking is effectivly free. :thumbsu: Welcome to join us people.
If not we will see you in the Bay. I am already fired up. :thumbsu:

Sorry lads, doesnt seem as though Il be going, unless Mum pulls the plug on going. However, it is not uncommon for me to get phonecalls 3-4 hours before game time asking if I needed a ticket, so who knows. I am resigned to the fact Il be watching this one from the couch. Probably works out better, because then i can slo go to a party I wasnt previously going to go to because of Showdown. :o

If KE wants my adult ticket, I've got a squadron one you can have for the game. you'll just need to upgrade at the ground.

Thanks. I'll let him know. He's been pestering me all week about sitting there but my hubby's not a fan of cheer squads at all and as I'm not going he won't let him sit/stand there. It's probably for the best this week as he'd be very vocal this week and will end up heckling the port supporters. Let hubby get deafened and bail him out of trouble this week:D

Have updated the list. We have 15 at the moment. Is this the best we can do??
The club normally gives up 40+ to us for us to replace with members tickets. Where are those members tickets now when we need them the most.

Biggest problem is getting past the door. Once i do that im fine.
I think the Strath will still be open, if not... uh...
I reckon, that if its a close game at three quarter time, we should haul ass to the Southern end and stand at the back of the bay behind the goal and bring our boys home!!!
Bad news. I will probably have to book some a room at a backpackers place and can't stay out all night. My Sunday has just gotten incredibly busy so I'll need to take my own car to the airport because I'll need to cover a lot of km's when I get back. Previously I was just gonna get a lift home from the airport and go home to snooze.
For that reason, I gotta make sure I'm sober when I arrive in Melbourne at 8am and should probably get a couple of hours sleep. The only positive with having a place to stay is that I can bring my banner, which I previously wasn't going to do.
I'll still be staying out late. Just need somewhere to crash from about 2am.
